Satnam ji,

The long ek ong kars are one of the mantras given by the SSS as part of the

aquarian age sadhana in 1992 for the next 21 years. The long ek ong kar is an

asthang mantra and is sometimes called the morning call. It is also called

the Adi shatki mantra.this mantra is very precise. It works by opening the

solar plexus so you can get connected.Chanting this mantra is equal to

millions and billions of suns. When you chant this mantra there will come a

day when you shall have the light within you. it is a basic mantra to opening

and regulating the kundalini energy. It will liberate you from the cycle of

birth and death( yogi bhajan).

It is the first meditation in the aquarian sadhana. It can obviously be done

alone up to 2 and a half hours. However I have always done it in the

beginning as given by yogi bhajan. We usually do it for 2 and a half hours for

Yb birthday as he has requested. It is wonderful. I have found that through my

experience doing it at the beginning of the sadhana that it indeed opens up

my solar plexus and energizes me.It therefore keeps me from falling asleep. My

meditations that follow are much deeper and my chakras are all open to

experience much more.It is an energetic meditation and serves me well in the

beginning. Maybe the master simply put it in first to wake us up and keep us

alert at this point of the sadhana ( :

Sat Nam Everyone,

There is something about my sadhana that has me confused. I have always

wondered where in my early morning practice the Long Ek Ong Kars comes into

it. Can someone answer this for me? It would certainly end the "shuffle"

I've tried to do lately which seems to leave me feeling as if something is

out of place. When do I chant the Long Ek Ong Kars?

Bless All,

Mary P.

Sat Nam Mary,

"where in my early morning practice the Long Ek Ong Kars comes into

it" - Where do you want it? Sometime between 3 and 7 a.m. is best, our general

rule for laya, or any meditation, at the studio, was to do it

last and Long Ek Ong Kars is a good one to finish with.

"When do I chant the Long Ek Ong Kars?" - What is taking center stage in my

sadhana determines when or if I do something. Sometimes I'm just

doing kriyas, other times I'm concentrating on a particular meditation, if thats

the case and I'm spending and hour in meditation, then I do about

15-20 minutes of yoga and pranayam, and then do my meditation. But meditation

should follow yoga.

Blessings

In the early 1970's I lived in several different 3HO ashrams across the country.

At that time we always chanted at least 31 minutes of "long ek

ong kars" after warming up with a half hour to an hour of yoga. After the long

ek ong kars, sadhanna would either be over or we would sing for a

while. Yogiji taught that this eight vibrational mantra created the vibration

that would carry us into the new age.

Hi Akkamahadevi,

You bet. Just do it alone as a sadhana if you want. Try it in the morning

at 5 or 6 and see for yourself. Really vibrate the Ong, somewhat

on the Kar, and the Nam, up in the roof of the mouth, just like the tape.
