Guest guest
Sat Nam The address I got from this list was: Yogi Bhajan Hacienda de Guru Ram Das Route 2, Box 132 D Espanola nm 87532 (Of course new mexico is capitalized but my keyboard is acting up and every time I try to convey that t erases the whole address. I love technology!) Anyway, I am not sure what the guidelines are for earning a name. I wrote and asked for one immediately because I thought it would be a good way to make a new beginning for my practice. I am a Buddhist and when I took my refuge vows, which is kind of at the beginning of that journey I was given that spiritual name. So I may be acting from that knowledge. In my letter I let him know I was just beginning and that I would be very grateful for a spiritual name if it was appropriate. It must have been because it came not too long after that. I know I am just a newbie to this list but I feel that receiving this name was a important experience, and I would suggest it (as far as I can make any suggestions, knowing as little as I do). Maybe it was the small amount of contact with YB that getting a name implies....it was my first contact of any kind with him and I felt VERY blessed. Also the way the letter was written it stated that (My quotations don't work either!) ....he has blessed you TO LIVE as Amar Kaur....it made an impression on me that KY can be a way of life for me, integrated into my current spirituality...it is not just a set of exercises and chants...it is life changing and it can bring out a whole new you...hence the new name feeling so appropriate. I am so happy to share this address and my thoughts with you. I hope this helps and that I haven t crossed any boundaries with my suggestions being so new Blessings, Amar Kaur/Amy P.S. Here is a question for those who know more about names....Do I call myself just Amar...I notice Elle just signs Ranjit..I am aware women get the Kaur at the end so maybe it is like a surname? Is it bad that I got a name before knowing this? Also, I am pronouncing just like it looks (Ah Mahr). Is that right? Thanks! Amy M.
