Guest guest
I am sorry for my ignorance. I would love to learn to meditate. Some of the terms that this group uses I don't know. I am brand new at this. Is there a book or cd that I can purchase that could help me with this? For instance what does Sat Nam mean? Thank you, With many blessings, Denise
Guest guest
Thanks Brad. I started to practice yoga to help with physical problems. I have epilepsy and migraines. But, I am really interested in the spiritual aspect. I have recently started on a spiritual growth journey. So that is what lead me here. I am really enjoying this group. Many Blessings, Denise
Guest guest
Hi Denise, Welcome to the group. Sat (truth or true) Nam (name), a greeting similar to namaste. Learn to meditate huh? Well you could start by going to Gururattan's website kundaliniyoga.org, and just look around. There is lots of information, and free downloads on meditation, and yoga. Try Kirtan Kriya (meditation). Or look for something that interests you. "Is there a book or cd that I can purchase that could help me with this?" --Two of the best, well really they're yoga manuals but full of information too, 'Transitions to a Heart Centered World' and 'Relax and Renew', 'Sexuality and Spirituality' has some really exotic meditations in it. Guest guest
Denise, Welcome to the list! I suffer from migraines as well. There was a discussion awhile back with some information that really helped me. One was using a pressure point on the inside of the elbow during an attack... I forget who posted it, but I used this during my last migraine and it helped significantly. Anyway, you may want to search the archives for more information!! Guest guest
Dear Denise, There is a lot of info on www.kundaliniyoga.org. Also my book Intro to KY has a glossary at the end and explains the basics. www.yogatech.com Enjoy the discovery.
