I spend many hours outside in hot, dry and, even worse, subzero windy weather. The waxy sticks don't help me but the Blistex lotion that comes in the miniature toothpaste like tube works great. It is especially good with a bit of beeswax or waxy stick smeared over top of it to keep it on and the wind out. Also, I have to remember to drink lots of water.
