Guest guest
sat nam! i was just wondering if the pre-packaged flavored versions of Yogi Tea have the same health benefits as the original formula? I know in the instructions for preparing the original from bulk it talks about adding black tea at the end to "activate" the ingredients, and you don't really do this with a pre-packaged bag (...well i don't, i guess you could, anyway.....). I was just curious since i bought the flavored kind when i couldn't find the bulk form at the local store. thanks ~rachel
Guest guest
Sat Nam Rachel "same health benefits as the original formula?" --each tea has different ingredients. I think the original yogi tea is the only one that has the teaspoon of black tea requirement. you can by the bulk 'Original Yogi Tea', from a-healing.com, but you have to buy a pound. I think they call it Cinnamon Spice or similar. Blessings Brad
Guest guest
Ginger is an important ingredient in yogi tea. All of the ingeredients are common spices that I keep for cooking. When I was studying Chinese herbs, I learned that raw ginger is not as hot as dried ginger. The dry ginger is a digestive, but in Chinese herbs we use it in place of a very hot, but somewhat poisonous herb. When I make yogi tea from the herbs that I measure out with a gram scale. I use raw ginger. I don't really measure the raw ginger using a scale since it is not at all dangerous. But I do measure the dry ginger. I feel personally that it tastes much better than the pre-packaged tea. But then, I use raw ginger in many of the things that I cook so I always have it. We use it in cooking for the taste and as a digestive.
