Anyone else familiar with this? sukhmani Hello, I read that somewhere a few months ago, but I can't remember where. It was a realiable source, so I'm sure that's right. I do have a question regarding the Cadaceus, though. But first, let me introduce myself, since this is my first post. I have been doing KY for about a year now, not exactly full force though (not doing the morning Sadhana). I have been expose to it most of my life through my mother, but she was only really into it when I was very young. Mostly I remeber the Yogi Tea, that she still makes when any of us kids get sick. By the way, I'm 23 now. I've been pretty strict in my practices, morning Sadhana included, for about a month now, since I've joined the group. I know how I feel when I skip a day and I don't think I'll ever miss a day again. My question: I have always wanted a tattoo. Just one, but it had to really mean something to me, it had to be a very powerful and personal symbol that would inspire me. When I read about the Cadaceus and its symbology related to KY, I knew that was what I'd been looking for. I'm a little concerned about how powerful it may be, though. I know symbols can harness a lot of power. Mostly I'm worried that any tattoo, would disrupt my prana rather than harmonize it, which is the goal; or that it would accidently release the Kundalini, which I'm not really sure how much I need to be worried about that. The tattoo would be a Cadaceus with the chakras represented by colored spheres going up the staff, the third eye chakra would be between the wings and the crown chakra would be an infinity symbol hovering just above. The tattoo would be just above the base of my spine. I wouldn't be getting it until spring next year, I will only get it if I keep up my practices. Any advice on the subject would be helpful. Guest guest
Sat Nam Amanda! I've read the cadaceus/kundalini association several places before. I don't remember which ones specifically (I've done a lot of reading over the past few months). If someone needs a specific source, I can go back through some books and sights and find a few. Let me know! As for the tattoo, I honestly can't answer your questions from a yoga point of view. Personally, I don't really care for them. I think the body has a beauty and elegance that goes beyond make-up, hair color ad tattoos. But that's purely my opinion. I'm sure there are others who will disagree with me. Guest guest
Dear Amanda, RE tatoo at base of spine. My personal opinion is not to mess with the energy like this at the area of the lower 2 chakras. Mentally tatoo the image in your thirdy eye and see what happens. If you keep up your practice maybe you will decide that you don't need it. And how are you going to see it back there anyway? How about a poster? Any artists with offers? I was thinking more about feeling than seeing, but a mental tattoo will do for now. I am also interested in what it would feel like to get a tattoo in general. But if I keep up my practices maybe that will curiousity pass. >How about a poster? Any artists with offers? I do have an artist friend drawing the tattoo for me. I'll ask him to draw a bigger own too. Don't they use needels and put chemicals in your body? I never had one so I am not sure of the procedure. > I did figure with more practice I would know if I should get it or not and > have a better understanding of the energies in my body, what hurts and > supports them. This is good, use your inner guidance. > I was thinking more about feeling than seeing, For the moment get into feeling the base of your spine with rootlock and the other exercises. This is where the juice comes from. Have fun! but a mental tattoo will do > for now. I am also interested in what it would feel like to get a tattoo in > general. Stick yourself with some needles like they use. :+) But if I keep up my practices maybe that will curiousity pass. Might pass if you feel the needles. :+) Well it would for me. I am not into pain. > I do have an artist friend drawing the tattoo for me. I'll ask him to draw > a bigger own too. Great idea. Maybe we can put it on the site and share with everyone. Our own personal mental third eye kundalini tatoo. Thanks for sharing. Sat Nam, Gururattan Kaur
Guest guest
Hi Amanda, " I was thinking more about feeling than seeing, but a mental tattoo will do for now. I am also interested in what it would feel like to get a tattoo in general. But if I keep up my practices maybe that will curiousity pass."-- --keep up the KY for a few months, and you won't care. Just my thought. What does it feel like? Take a pin or a needle and start poking yourself with it lightly, over and over, really fast. Why would you want it where you couldn't see it too, never understood that. Blessings Brad
