I saw a few requests for this meditation, so it seemed appropriate to answer to

the whole group. so , here it is:

MEDITATION FOR RELEASE OF COLD DEPRESSION

POSTURE: Sit in easy pose with a straight spine. Interlace your ingers so that

the finger tips press into the cavities between the fingers on the back of each

hand. The index fingers are straight up, pressed together along their length.

Thumbs cross each other comfortably. Hands are held at chest level.

FOCUS: Eyes are open, focused at the tip of the nose.

MANTRA: Chant Wahe Guru Wahe Jio from your navel point, creating a mental focus

in this way. At the sound of Wha focus at the navel; Hey focus at the chest;

GU(goo)RU (roo) focus at the lips. Follow the same sequence and rhythm for for

Wahe Jio (gee-oh)

TIME: begin with 3 minutes; work up to 31.

END: Inhale and hold. Listen to the sound of the mantra. Exhale, Inhale, hold

and give back all the cold depression to God. Exhale, inhale, hold, and feel the

preciousness of live. Let it go through your exhalation. Relax

(Given by Yogi Bhajan October 17, 2000)

Note: the article refers to the version of WaheGuru, Wahe Jio that is on Raga

Sadhana, therefore I think the full mantra is as chanted in sadhana, which is

Wahe Guru, Wahe Guru, Wahe Guru, Wahe Jio. Raga Sadhana is a very lively version

of the mantra, but I would think you can pick any one you want.

I really think anyone who wants to get into a regular practice should have a

sadhana cd or tape. I'm sure our monitors can steer you to a website where they

can be purchased.

I don't think you have to do it to music. In fact, sometimes I don't. It's what

you feel comfortable with that counts.

I hope it helps all who try it. For me, it is a very uplifting way to start my

day. I'm close to completing my first 40 days and its really helped me to be a

more positive person.

Peace, Love and Light, Sukhmani
