Making a difference

Sat nam everyone,

A little off topic but I just felt like sharing this with everyone. Today

I think I made a difference in one kids life. When I was talkin on AOL

Instant messenger a kid from school IM'ed me. He asked me if I thought he

was a "loser" because he gets made fun of at school for being "gay," not

literally though. He seems to be goin through a lot of trouble with people

bothering him so I decided, being the kind heart I am, to give him some

useful advice and a helping hand. I gave him a lot very useful advice and

telling him there is nothing wrong with him, it is only the ones who make

fun of him who needs some work. And after our convo he said "i know i sound

pathetic, but you just made my day." I told him you just made my day by

saying that, and it really did too. It just felt so good to make a

difference in that kids life, he is no different than anyone else, people

just make him think that (i told him that also). That is the greatest

feeling; that I have made a difference to him. I always try to make people

feel better when they are feeling low, and I always seem to fit their need

of comofort and make them feel better. I owe it all to KY and God. I never

knew how good it felt to make a difference in peoples lives and will

continue to do so. I feel I have reached a great goal. I am trying to

encourage and teach all my friends that hatered is nothing but a cage many

of us are stuck in and we just have to break free and spread our wings of

love.

Keep on shining,

-David

As a kid I had read somewhere "it´s better to light one candle then to curse the

darkness"......it´s nice to know that you made a difference in the life of a

kid (in chat) and it is really something to feel proud of when we see that our

words of wisdom or advice are well taken and appreciated...

Dear David,

Thanks so much for sharing your story about sharing love with the kid who

felt like a loser.

One of the reasons we practice KY is to get to the consciousness where we

spread love instead of negativity. This is how we participate in changing

the world. You are doing a great job!!
