Guest guest
Dear Angad, I totally relate to this idea/practice. Not only is this practice of noticing the Watcher instrumental and incredibly important for spiritual growth and elevated awareness of self, it also facilitates the "listening" process. Personally, on a day to day basis, I'm aware of subtle shifts of consciousness while thinking or performing mundane tasks. Interestingly enough, if anyone practices "observing the observer" for as little a ten minutes a day it may become a natural "background process." Here is something I saved from another list that can actually make one dizzy (lol), but illustrates your point (I think): "I think, therefore I am"; there are stages of awareness. 1) I am looking at things. Who is this "I"? 2) I am looking at the thing that looks at things. (Higher self--whateveryawannacallit) Who is this "I"? 3) I am looking at the thing, that's looking at the thing that looks at things. (God-self) Sat Nam! Hety Recently the idea of the "watcher" in meditation has been very important to me. JapJi (Sikh morning prayer/poem/chant) talks about the "watcher and the actor" being One. Also of great relevance lately to me in meditations is "sunia," --listening. We studied JapJi last summer in NM at Yogi Bhajan's insistance in teacher training 2, the communication module. A student translated sunia as being quiet so as to listen to God in meditation,

(Thank God it was live music so I didn't disturb anybody with my sobbing...)I just felt so happy to be there; very humbling. In fact, when I need to recharge, I like to go back to that moment, the low light, the smell and of course the beautiful music. Ever since (that was 3 weeks ago) I am a changed person. During meditation at my home I still every now and then get teary-eyed, especially when when I made a profound realization. Sorry for just throwing my two cents in sort of unannounced, I 've been lurking for a couple weeks. I'm just reading the posts and learning so much, I'm so glad to have found this group. So, thanks to everyone. Sat Nam, Be
Guest guest
Sat Nam and welcome all 'ex-lurkers'! It appears that we've had several people begin posting the past few days, which is great. Its great that everyones contributing. Thank you for the feedback on archer pose. I've begun doing it in my morning sadhana. So hopefully my nervous system will begin to benefit. With 3 small kids, I can't imagine that I would have a problem there! The yogatech site will be down till wednesday, according to Gordon. However, the 3H0 site has links to Yogi Bhajan's books, I think. They may also have links to the head covers (I also don't know what they are called). I noticed the other day, however, that we haven't heard from Brad in awhile. Brad, are you out there? Christa
