Guest guest
I have just read most of El Collie's website (www.elcollie.com) and hence was understandably hesitant about posting this message because most group members will have read about and actually experienced many similar Kundalini experiences. However, even though there may be nothing very new, I eventually decided to post this message since it may be interesting to some group members and it may result in useful feedback of comments or advice. This is a short amalgamated description of several personal meditation sessions. These experiences are all automatic, spontaneous, and natural. In preparation, I sit down in Padmasana ("Lotus Pose"), or some other cross-legged seating position, with my hands on my knees. The hands are open and palms facing upwards. Sometimes I may decide to sit on a chair. Some of the effects described below often occur spontaneously even if I am standing or walking in normal life without specifically doing meditation. If I choose Mantra meditation then within a few minutes I can feel my whole body vibrating and singing the Mantra. If I choose music then within a few minutes I will feel merged into the music. The particular choice of Mantra or music is quite an individual decision, so I will not provide further details. I relax my body and mind. I melt into my environment. I enter into a meditation state. Depending on the particular session, I will get some or all of the following symptoms: * Sometimes, usually near the beginning, there is a sudden breath inwards (as if I had just received a cold shower unexpectedly). * At other times there is a strong breath outwards (as if a bullet has been shot out), and held outwards for a few seconds. * Surya Mudra (hands open with third finger and thumb closed and touching tightly) is very prominent on both hands. * At the third eye there is a warm (often hot) tingling sensation, with a feeling like a large heavy metal coin. * There is a gentle vibration of the tongue, together with a motion similar to savouring a boiled sweet. * There is a gentle vibration of the fingers, especially at the tips of the first and middle fingers. * There is a gentle vibration of the head, like the humming of an electricity generator. * The eyes appear to be "staring" intently at one point, with the eyelids half-closed. * Energy swells/inflates the whole body. Energy currents rush though the body. * There is happiness, peace and relaxation. No excessive effort is required. * Sometimes the hands get very cold relative to the rest of the body. * There is full consciousness (so far) regarding the entire process. * There is no distinction between five minutes or sixty minutes. A few years ago, it could take about an hour to reach such a meditation state. Over the past few months it has been occurring progressively more quickly and a few minutes is often sufficient. Recently some of the initial symptoms have been occurring within just a few seconds. In some instances, merely thinking about it can invoke the same kind of meditation state and related activities, without even the need for a specific session. For example, if I replay the mantra or music purely in my mind then Surya Mudra starts immediately, even though there is no external stimulus. So far, I have not experienced any bad or negative aspects. Bhavin.
