Guest guest
Well today is day 60 of my 90 day med with the Ganputi Mantra. So far, so good.I have not been doing a consistent 20 minutes of it each night like I had originally planned. Most of the time, I only do 11 minutes, then do an extra 11-20 minutes of a 'silent' version. Meaning, I'll stop chanting/listening to the mantra after 11 minutes. But I continue the med silently 'hearing' it. Technically, that's not really a silent med, but I'm not sure what else to call it. I know it's supposed to be good to go deeper into the chant on longer stretches of time (meaning 90 vs 40 days). But I find that, personally, I get to a point chanting/listening/feeling the mantra, that I need to stop and just 'be' for awhile. Mentally, the mantra is still running in my head for a few more minutes. Then, I stop even that and just sort of float. Does that make sense? I'm not sure I can see myself doing hours of chanting. I honestly don't know how you guys do it. First, usually my voice starts to give out after about 10 minutes (the timing of which works very well for me right now). How do others cope with the voice box/throat beginning to get tired from use? Maybe it's just me. But the other part is that I get to a point where I just need quiet, not chanting. Is it still 'ok' to go 90 days but only do 11 minutes/day? Oh yeah, one more question I keep forgetting to ask. Many times during locks and/or meds it will say to place the tongue on the roof of the mouth. Is that the tip of the tongue or the whole top part of the tongue? And does it go to the front, middle, back, or somewhere in between on the roof? These may sound like really simplistic questions, but I have no clue here. A couple of times I've read about placing the tongue at specific points along the roof. But I don't know how the roof is 'mapped' out. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks a bunch!
