Guest guest
Hi Matthew I don't really want this topic to develop on the list - it has been discussed many times over the last 3.5 years. However, I can't post and not expect others to reply, if they so wish. When reading reports, such as yours today, I have to ask myself just what kind of agenda this Hatha yoga teacher is following. Is this misinformation or disinformation? I have never seen or heard of anyone following the path of Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan ending up with any kind of problems, mental or otherwise. As far as making money is concerned, and losing sight of the path, I think that many Hatha yoga teachers are guilty of that. They have succeeded in turning the yoga they teach into just another form of fitness training, a means of exploiting the gullible who are so easily parted from their money. You must remember that Yogi Bhajan is a master of Hatha yoga, as well as Kundalini yoga - but the kind of Hatha yoga with which he is acquainted is far removed from that now peddled by many folk in the West. My advice to you is to stay with KY - you had great experiences in NYC - and this is only the beginning for you - and look for a new Hatha yoga teacher! :-) Sat Nam! I have a (hopefully) interesting topic to bring to the group. > I was talking to my hatha yoga teacher earlier (explaining as I'm in the US > I can't make tonight's class!) and she was telling me that she'd known of > people who'd been into KY ending up in mental institutes. Basically, she was > warning me that (a) there are lots of charlatans out there wanting to earn > money and setting themselves up as teachers of various forms of yoga > including KY and (b) raising K can be very dangerous. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
