Guest guest
Sat Nam Everyone, "The more people who wake up and vibrate at the heart center with love, the greater chance we have to survive as a species. This is serious business. We are all participating in this process." Truer words never spoken, GRK. I thought this appropriate for my second and just-over-40-day update. It's a testing meditation. I honestly didn't know if I could do it when I began, because of the arm position. But I practiced my pratyahar from the beginning and that is the key, if you stay in the pain (its not as bad as Sat Kriya) it'll wear you down. Watch yourself and stay with the heart center is very important. Divine Mother meditation, has visuals which I really use. First you 'beam' with the eyes, then the rest of the time is spent on the diagram in Transistions (the Divine Mother). Saturday night, or was hard. I haven't felt like that --really the whole day-- but that night I could really feel the energy, never really fell asleep. What are the effects you ask? I'm learning to major things! One I'm learning what it feels like to be in my heart center, and when I'm in my head (analyzing and reacting) and can then bring awareness back to the heart center. Two, Sunday morning when I 'awoke' I wasn't sure if I could do sadhana, because my engergy was so high. I did asanas to open the chest and heart center which really brought me down into the body. The defining moment was when I could do the meditation, increasing the energy, and was able to handle it. I did this by constantly PULLING THE ENERGY DOWN. I'm sure everyone has their own way, for me its like telling someone how to breath, I just did it. I kept bringing my awareness to the heart, sort of like 'seeing' from the heart, and coming out of the head. This was somewhat tricky, because the focus is through the eyes through cupped hands. Another interesting effect is I feel Shakti, as I visualize her constantly, I feel her integrating with me. Some times I get the distinct impression that it is her arms not mine, I also get impressions of many arms. I am up to 31 mins on the second half of the meditation, (going to 62) and feel like I'm ready to move up another 11 mins very soon. I expect great things from this. I learning to live from the heart center!! I'm not really keeping track of days though I;ve marked the calendar, but I'll keep ya'll posted as 'stuff' happens. Thats all for now. Thanks so much for sharing your progress and experiences with the Divine Mother meditation. You are getting truly wonderful results. I really didn't think anyone would take to up on this challenge. I am of course super pleased that you did. Yogi Bhajan says that the heart center has the power of 108 suns. If any one wants power, I still affirm, this is one formula. BTW, is the man who wrote a while back wanting meditations to get super natural powers is still on the list? There is a meditation is my book Sexuality and Spirituality called meditation for Supernatural Powers. It would be interesting to try it and see what results you get. Let us know if you decide to do so. It would be interesting to compare the different meditations and results. Guest guest
Hi Brad, me too, me too ;-) I also would like to experience something like that - where can I find a description of the meditation? SAT NAM, Juergen
Guest guest
Wow... it sounds like you are having some amazing sensations. It also sounds like you are feeling the effects in the heart center as well. I too would love to hear how you progress with this. Perhaps one day, when I'm a bit more advanced in my practice, I'll try this. Great to hear from you!! Christa
Guest guest
Sat Nam Christa, Jurgen, yogis The meditation is Transitions to a Heart Centered World pg 141. I think it would be really fitting if everyone did a shortened versions today -- 3 mins each part for first half of meditation, and 11 mins for second half. THIS OPENS THE HEART even if you believe you already live from heart center. And you don't need years of practice to do this either, just try and see! Just remember to keep bringing awareness to the heart center, or the energy builds up in the head. BTW... to those who haven't read 'The Destiny of Women' (by GRK), you must read this! It provides meditative material for first few minutes of the first part of the meditation. Guest guest
Hello, All, I, too, was inspired by Gururattan's "challenge" a while back and have been doing the divine mother meditation and reading "The Destiny of Women Is the Destiny of the World" as part of my a.m. practice. I haven't done continuous 40 days yet. In fact, there have been a number of stops and starts, but I keep returning to it. One reason Gururattan's original posting about this (in response to a question about gaining supernatural powers) intrigued me was that I had only the vaguest idea who or what the Divine Mother was, and wanted to know more. Also, and this is hard to express clearly, I thought I had already dealt with "the woman thing" and somehow moved beyond gender as a way to characterize or differentiate people or energies. A little voice told me I was missing the point. So I found the meditation and began.... Even though I haven't completed a continuous 40 days, I've noticed a subtle effect -- a more heartfelt response to my partner of nine years. (Sometimes in the rush and bother of day-to-day stuff deeper feelings seem to get lost.) After one morning meditation about 10 days ago, I also experienced an incredible rage that lasted all day. However, in the next couple days I felt like a clear blue sky after the passing of a thunder storm. And I had a delightful dream in which a divine person named Mary (not the Christian Mary) who has appeared to me in the past, visited again. In the dream I became her! Thanks to everyone for sharing experiences of this meditation. Reading about them is inspiring and encouraging. Sat Nam Chris B
Guest guest
I'll try it. I found the meditation you are referring to, but I have a question on the pronunciation of some of the words in the mantra. I'm assuming that Sarab is pronounced like the name Sarah, except with a b at the end. Prithum I'm assuming is said just as it's spelled. Bhagawati I think is pronounced: bag u wat ee. where 'u' is a short 'u' sound and wat is pronounced like watts in a lightbulb. Is that correct? Also, I don't see any times given for each of the visualizations. I'm assuming that you do it until you really feel it, and then move to the next step. Is that correct? I just went and looked at some slides of memorial services around the word -------- boy was that mistake. My eyes are still stinging from the crying.
