Guest guest
Dear Gayathri and Victor, Please, let's take a few steps back and one big breath....ready?? What are you saying here? The female menstrual cycle is abnormal and unclean? Yes? Gayathri, you wrote: "Menstruation is associated with three major losses from the body: water, iron, and calcium. These losses create the following major problems." Gayathri, Geritol made millions on this myth. Yes, a myth. Nothing that should not be discarded is lost during a woman's menses. Menstruation is normal. Period! LOL! Repeat: A woman's menstrual cycle is NORMAL. Nothing is lost that should not be lost, nothing is retained that should not be retained. Normal. Victor, you wrote: "In Prof. Arnold Ehret's "The Mucusless Diet Healing System" he discovered that once the body is completely cleansed the menstruation stops as well. During that cycle your body throws off a tremendous amount of toxins that more than likely you have eaten. I have a friend who suffered from pms and was a new woman once she got clean. You can be free too! AMEN!" Victor, excuse me, but if menstruation stops, the human species stops. No? And "get clean?" Menstruation IS clean. There are NO toxins thrown off. It's a clean, natural, normal and necessary process if female beings are to remain female. If menstruation stops, then females may as well be males. No? So anyway, I've read the e-mails as what to do re the PMS issue. Every woman is unique. Here is my suggestion and what has worked for me: Find out what YOUR body says to you. How would one do that? Answer: Find a very good kinesiologist and learn what your body needs, does not need, rejects, is lacking, etc. What if you think you're inching up on menopause and need hormone replacement? But what if you only need folic acid? What if you don't need progesterone but through someone's good intentions you purchase a $20 jar and use it -- and need twenty catnaps during the day? What if someone recommends primrose oil and you get the runs, heaven forbid? Additionally, women who practice yoga and meditate will have totally different norms than women who do not. AND, women who are K active will probably have different hormone levels, including DHEA and testosterone, than women who are not K active. That particular statement is from my own experience; I do not claim to have any data here. IOW, it's anecdotal. Yes, every now and then the Shakti powers-that-be bristle when male promulgated fears and myth hit the fan....;-) Sat Nam! Hety

Guest guest
Hety, you made me smile, thank you I also believe in many of the same things that you do but I had assumed (hoped) Victor made a typo and was inferring that cleansing the body of toxins will eliminate menstrual discomfort, not the cycle entirely -hope I am right here;-) One caveat to what you say -is for those of us who have fibroids (60% of woman over 35) or endrometriosis or a hormonal imbalance -then we have situations were one may bleed abnormally and suffer miserably. I had extensive surgery for this and can tell you that the one big help was eating only organic meat, many suspect that estrogen and other hormones fed to animals effect women strikingly due to our hormonal cycles. Now I rarely eat meat and then only organic I eat lots of soy and many symptoms have disappeared -wish I had learned this years ago, so I could have avoided major surgery. We do have to educate ourselves, listen to our bodies and find, perhaps through trial and error the method that works for us. -cris Walk in Beauty On Wednesday, September 11, 2002, at 11:55 PM, hbrost wrote: > Additionally, women who practice yoga and meditate will have totally > different norms than women who do not. Guest guest
My own personal experience was that my PMS systems improved about 5-fold after I did my first fast and colonic cleanse. It coincided with a lot of work on general energetic clearing of the sacral chakra, where I held a lot of old tension and anger from childhood. Since then, my cycle has shortened by two days, cramping, water retention and moodiness is greatly reduced, and my cycle now follows the moon, whereas it used to be random. My IBS also went away. Guest guest
How does one go about clearing the sacral charka? I know mine is all clogged up. I hold much anger and tension left from my childhood as well. I to get horrible cramps and PMS and I also get all locked up in my sacral area and have bowel issues. My legs feel like they're suffocating, they feel like jello. Its like no energy can get down there it all builds up. I've been able to conquer the PMS and cramps pretty well and I've been following the moon since starting KY, but the leg/sacral problem only seems to be getting worse. PLEASE HELP!! I repeat, try sipping lots of water, and take greens, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products for dealing with PMS. And, I would like to add that you need to take considerable amount of vitamin C ( citrus fruits ) for the iron to be efficiently absorbed in your system. Also, for calcium to be efficiently absorbed, you would need vitamin D ( a little bit of sunshine or cod-liver oil ). Guest guest
I feel like I should clarify a few things from my original email. I have tried various methods on my own for fixing this but some advice on what to do would help. Why reinvent the wheel? I'm currently working on some lower spine and life nerve exercises. I was actually going to see how this month went with these exercises before I posted any questions, but we were on the topic and I never thought about it being associated with my childhood so that really struck me. I've also had much difficulty as long as I can remember touching my toes with out bending my knees I can do this now but only after stretching for a while. I feel like these things are connected. Also when I try to feel my chakras while meditating, I have great difficulty with the lower three. I can't really feel them and if I do they move really sluggish. Guest guest
I'm sure the more experienced Kundalini Yoga experts have yoga practices that will help to clear any blockages here. I personally did a lot of work on this before I began Kundalini Yoga. The things that helped me were psychotherapy, fasts and cleanses, change in diet, Reiki, pranayama and meditation. It was a long process, but my mind needed to understand it before I let go of it. The understanding aids me in my work as a psychotherapist and healer. As this may be off topic, please feel free to contact me separately. Lori
Guest guest
I just had my hormones tested, high testosterone levels and DHEA, KY you think? Why? Yours were high also?
