Guest guest
Sat Nam, This past Sunday, I went to a KY workshop in london. It was great, we studied the life cycles and did some yoga and meditation. It left me with a little confusion about the different terms for Mulbhand, which I forgot to clarify before leaving. During one set, he asked us to maintain rootlock throughout one exercise and continue breathing at the same time.. then a bit further on in the exercise he said to add the navel lock. I had already been pulling in the navel as part of the rootlock so was a bit confused. It was then that I realised that perhaps the pulling of the anal sphincter muscle and the sex organs could be referred to as 'rootlock', and the 'navel lock', just pulling in on the navel. I had always though that 'Mulbhand' (where you pull the anal sphincter muscles, the sex organs and the navel) meant 'Root lock', and that the two were identical, 'Mul' meaning 'Root', and I thought that this lock always included pulling in the navel. So I equated the two as being the same. The fact that I was pulling the navel in also during root lock might explain why I was finding it hard to breath properly at the same time and wondering why it was so difficult and awkward. Are there any instances where you are supposed to pull a full 'Mulbhand', navel included and continue breathing? It seems to be very counter the flow of the respiratory system. Could anyone clarify on these three separate terms?
