Guest guest
Hello Group, I purchased a large hand drum at an American Indian store recently. Wasn't looking for one, but, once I saw this drum I just had to have it. I bought it for a wall decoration. However, the sales lady gave me a beater from behind the counter and what a beautiful, deep, resonating sound it makes. So, it never made it onto the wall. I enjoy beating the drum. I use it before practicing kundalini yoga and before meditation. I find that it quickly centers me and increases focus. I beat on it to welcome the morning sun. I suppose it is much like the resonance of a gong. Quite a liberating and true sound that goes right to the core of me. Just wanted to share the fun. -Heidi www.candlebeefarm.com ---------- Introducing NetZero Long Distance Unlimited Long Distance only $29.95/ month! Guest guest
sorry for my late reply to this post, I have been away but wanted to answer still. A month ago I was in a small african shop and heard a really nice sound coming to me, well, some kind of calling I would say. It turned out to be the sound of a african wood xylophon. I was amazed by the sound and bought it. When I thought about it after, I still remember the sound who kept my attention in the store. It was like if someone was using it to call me, saying "hey, look whats here, this should be yours..." Since I have it at home, I really enjoy just playing with it some time. I found out that it really relaxes me before I do yoga, or at any other time (and I am not a musician! I totally improvise and have fun with sounds). I was wondering if anyone got some kind of experience related to mine, could these wood sounds be awakening the chakras? sat nam, m-c > Hello Group, > > I purchased a large hand drum at an American Indian store recently.
