Guest guest
Hi, Gretchen and All, I find others' experiences interesting and I, too, would like to know how other people came to KY. I began practicing KY by happy accident. I was chatting with a business associate of my partner and mentioned that I felt like getting back into yoga practice. He thought that was great, and asked if I wanted to do yoga with him. I said yes. I showed up at the time and place we agreed upon, expecting to do some sort of hatha yoga (I'd practiced Iyengar style on and off for ten years). All of a sudden I'm being taught Adi Mantra and breath of fire. The set my teacher gave me was unexpected and challenging, but I loved it! After the session I felt happily alive in my body in a way that I hadn't experience since childhood. And that's what got me going. It isn't that I don't have flaws, bad habits, imperfections. I could write a lengthy message about those! But what keeps me going with KY is more attraction to the positive than seeking relief from the negative.
