Guest guest
Hi, I have been lurking awhile. I just picked up KY nine weeks ago. I have gone for my weekly lessons during my basic course but now that the course is over, I have stopped practicing though it used to make me feel so good.Though even when the course was on, I used to do it only once a week but it still had an effect. I also don't have time in the mornings as I have a high-stresssed job. The little time I have in the mornings, I set aside for doing my Reiki, which is something I have been doing for the past four years. It takes up like half an hour of my time but I feel lost without it. My main question is how do you find the will and even more time to do KY every morning? This is something that I would really like to be able to do, but I honestly think that maybe my body's plain lazy though my mind is more than willing. How do you guys do it? I am also an insomniac andd unfortunately one of those who need at least eight hours of sleep a day, so it's not a pretty picture on some days. I also have a dreadful caffeine addiction - five cups a day. But I try to avoid it in the evenings. Any suggestions on how to whip my sorry self into shape? I really want to do it but inertia's just set in... C heers, Sharm
Guest guest
Sat Nam Sharm- I was similar to you regarding time. When I first started doing the yoga, it was only twice a week in the evenings. But after about 2 weeks, I really started feeling good about myself and was thoroughly enjoying it. I then began doing it every evening. I couldn't figure out how people got up at 3:30/4:00 every morning to do it then (actualy I still don't!) But I now get up between 5:30 and 6 and will do about 30-45 minutes in the morning, plus my evening routine which is usually about 1-1.5 hours. I rarely watch tv during the week. I've adjusted my routine so that I get my work done (full-time consultant and a hi-stress job too), spend time with my family (I have 3 small children and a husband) and then after my kids are in bed, I do yoga. This is my time. I chose to do yoga instead of sitting and watching sitcoms on tv. It wasn't a matter of making more time, just re- prioritizing the time and activities I already had. If mornings are too difficult to start with, try spending some time in the evenings. Or if it is more convenient, maybe spend an extra 30 minutes after your Reiki sessions in the morning on some yoga and meditation. Just start small at first, but do it consistently. Then you can grow it as you feel you want to. Hope that helps! Christa
Guest guest
Satnam Brad, Christa, Luis and the rest of you who have offered advice; I greatly appreciate it, and it's made me realise that I should be trying harder, that I have been perhaps not trying hard enough. Brad - yes, I guess if I can put effort into my reiki, I can do it for KY too, it's a matter of first breaking into habit; Christa - hearing about your schedule's made me realise that I have to make the time somehow, I just have my job to worry abt, but you have to take care of a family as well and you can still manage it;I shouldnt let my excuses get the better of me... Luis - I will try out self-motivation, maybe by setting smaller goals of twice a week and then slowly build it up. One again, thanks a lot. And Yikai and Boo Seng, I can attest that getting onto yogaeast singapore is a good idea because I learn my KY from the teachers there, and they are very patient. Personally, it's really worth giving the teachers there a shot because they are patient and they know their stuff very well. ________________ The NEW Netscape 7.0 browser is now available. Guest guest
Sharm, my schedule sounds more hectic than it is. And maybe it's because of ky. But I don't feel stressed out anymore or strecthed too thin like I used to. This schedule works for me, but it took me several months to find one that worked right. So start playing around with different times and find one that works for you. Once you get a routine that you like, you'll find that you aren't feeling as tense or stressed or hectic anymore. Your life is what it is. Make it the best for you. Christa

Guest guest
I firmly believe that meditation creates time. As a matter of fact in a meditation class I take we were just talking about how we've found that if we just take the time to meditate (and do ky) the time to do everything else in a day is there. "There is time for every purpose under heaven." I wake up at 3:30-4:00am everyday to do KY and I work full time and go to school at night. I haven't not had time for anything since I started meditation (and ky). My schedule that works for me is get up at 3:30-4:00 cold shower, light physical ky, meditation; finish getting ready for work @ 5:15am leave at 5:35; meditate at lunch break for 22 mins (I used to not have time for this at work but I just take the time and the time is there); Get home at 4 chant and meditate for about 40mins; Get dinner ready, have a snack go to school @5:15pm; get home 7:30 eat dinner, clean up; relax with my hubby, take shower; 9:30 heavy physical ky; 10:30 go to bed. I rarely feel rushed, stressed, or tired. You just have to play with your schedule see what you can do. Try just doing it for a week strait and see how different you feel.
