Guest guest
Satnam Everything you said made perfect sense to me. Different time, different energy and frequencies. In relation to the noon meditation - It depends on what meditation you are doing. Are you hungry at the time or is it after the meal. The body is on the move if you are working so if you are under stress, any form of breathing or meditation will take you to a deep place if you do it consciously and give in to it. I have had to not do to much on my lunch break because I get the same feeling of not wanting to come out of the state. I just have to think about something motivating and good about my job and that it will be 4pm soon! The trick is to stay relaxed and motivated to work. I believe that your lunch break should be enough time to digest your food and include a siesta for it seems natural to do so. The natural instincts of your body might be playing a role also. Well it is great that you have the presence of mind to do this on your break I would just experiment with different yoga and meditation until one feels like it is working to keep you alert and relaxed at the same time. Guest guest
Sat Nam All! I have a question about meditation. Has anyone noticed different affects of meditations (even the same one) if done at different times of the day? I know about the ambrosial hours. And usually my morning routine is very light yoga (only one or two sets) and then predominantly meditation. My evening routine is usually an hour of yoga and then only about 11-20 minutes of meditation. I will occasionally meditate briefly around lunch time too. But what I've noticed is that I get completely different affects from meditation during the noon hours, than the other times. My morning meds typically have a calming and/or light and happy affect on me. I feel refreshed and new. In the evening, I sometimes catch myself 'head bobbing', but it's my whole upper body that starts to lean, not just my head. (But at least I'm keeping my spine straight!) My meds in the evening basically relax me and get me ready for bed. It also clears out any left over work/day issues. Occasionally I'll feel more energized and stay up a bit longer, but that's not the norm' for me. The lunch-time meds have an even different affect. I usually will only sit for about 11 minutes for these. But I find it very difficult to 'come out of it' afterwards. It's almost like I go deeper in meditation during those times than the other times. I feel almost groggy or dazed for about 30-45 minutes afterwards. I'm curious if others have had similar experiences. And if so, if anyone has any thoughts on why? I would expect the deeper meditations to occur in the early morning hours or maybe in the evening. The noon time frame just doesn't make sense to me. .....and yes, Deva, I know I'm analyzing again! Christa
