Guest guest
SAT NAM ya'll, Leo down in Houston here. Well I started my first 40 day Sadhana on Sunday. I'm doing really basic forms of excerceise and meditation, being a beginner at all this, and I'm already seeing some effects. First of all, my house is IN ORDER! It was funny to watch me zooming around here getting things done after my morning meditations. It's not a feeling of compulsion per se, yet it is about getting things done, not wasting time and facing some fears. The office in my apt. was the hardest to straighten up, I think because I have a lot physical reminders of a very painful hospital stay. As some people have said, it seems very often that I have to DRAG myself to the mat in the mornings and I do everything I can to weasel out of it. At the same time, I'm experiencing an expansion and attunement within my self that makes me want more. In fact, one of my issues has been wanting to do more. I grew up with that classic American "More is more" philosophy but I also stopped and remembered two things: 1) That's why they call it a DISCIPLINE, so just buck up little soldier, and get on the mat! 2) I also have had to remind myself to NOT add a bunch of stuff, regardless of how tempting it is, so that I can focus on getting everything I can out of the current experience. I have that tendancy to move a bit too quickly. Since this is my first Sadhana, I'm being very gracious with myself in terms of making adjustments and making this a comfortable happy experience for myself. After all, the Universe is set up for me to win, right? I have decided to have one day a week during which I can explore all these there cool meditations I've seen come up lately, just cause I can't resist. One cool thing I'm doing with it tho is some adjunctive art work. I got some poster board and crayons and every night I finish my evening meditations, I draw one line. It needn't be a straight line. It's already pretty clearly growing to be someone's face, so I may have to send a picture of it out there when I'm done so we can all play "Name that Yogi". So far, I've eliminated Yogi Bear, but since I don't know what any of the spiritual leaders among the Kundalini practitioners actually look like.......at least it prevents me having any predispositions in the artwork. Just an idea I had to add some more dimension to the Sadhana. I know some of ya'll are in the middle of similar processes and I wish you delightful success. And misquote an aphorism, "Progress IS Perfection." SAT NAM LEO
