Guest guest
Hello I am still here.. I have just finished writing a long email and .... as sometimes happens, my computer hung!! Oh well. I am doing the exercises but not with in a KY framework. The desire and craving for a ciggie is less but it's still there, and I am still smoking... even as I write this!! Tomorrow I would like to try the following when I wake up, and put the asanas in a KY framework: Cold shower (as it stimulates me and prepares me like nothing else!!), Adi Mantra ((?) Ong Namo....), the asanas (with BF or LDB I am not sure which is better, any advice?), Sat Kriya (but only 1 or 2 mins), Meditation from the latest NMB, ended by Long Sat Nams. Does this sound okay to you all? And the Nasal Cleaning which is so far a BIG DISASTER... the water goes down my throat and not out the other nostril!! Any advice?? I'll get there... sometime... The desire and The exercises I had mentioned to improve chest expansion and breathing need not be done within a KY framework. Just try each one of these stretching exercises that specifically target improving the lung capacity for 30 seconds (overall, 5-10 minute deal). You may combine these with the other KY stuff you are planning to do. > Nasal Cleaning which is so far a BIG DISASTER... the > water goes down my throat and not out the other > nostril!! Any advice?? I'll get there... sometime... Ok, tilt your head to the side ( not, head tilted and leaning forward/backward), such that it is in line with your shoulders. If you have the head tilted and slightly backwards, you will find the water coming through your throat. The next time it comes through your throat, try to bring the head slighlty forward. With some trial and error, it takes a while to have the water running smoothly out through your nose after all the blockages are cleared. It took me a couple of weeks. gayathri Faith Hill - Exclusive Performances, Videos & More http://faith.

Guest guest
I quit smoking 2 years ago (I had been studying KY for about 1 1/2 years at that point). What I found very helpful was cinamon sticks. Rather than indulge in a cigarette when I was craving one, I would inhale through a cinamon stick (holding it as if it were a cigarette). I found the stick replicated the type of breath one would take through a cigarette, and the shape is similar. That helped me through cravings. Guest guest
Nick, How are you doing with your quit-smoking attempts these days? I have a couple more suggestions that you might want to try out. 1) After brushing your teeth in the morning, take some salt-water in your mouth. Brush the tongue, and the back of your throat GENTLY. This will remove the mucus collected in the throat ( which needs to be removed everyday) easily. The effect of this exercise is similar to jal-neti's. When cleaning up the throat, it will also clear up the nasal passages and bring tears to the eyes. Another excellent exercise to improve the quality of breathing. Besides, 80% of the germs in the mouth reside at the back of the tongue and throat. An excellent way to keep up oral-hygiene, as salt-water is a terrific disinfectant. 2) a) Sip a glass of water after brushing your teeth in the above manner. b) Then follow it up by sipping another glass of water with a couple of pinches of salt and a couple of pinches of turmeric powder ( you get this in Indian stores ). The salt is used to break down the mucus collected in your foodpipe and stomach. The turmeric is used to reduce the cancer-causing agents. Curcumin ( which lends the yellow color in turmeric ) has anti-carcinogenic properties. In a research trial conducted in smokers, after a one month intake of a gram of turmeric everyday, the cancer-causing substances in the urine decreased dramatically. Turmeric is widely used in Indian cooking and in indian herbal medicine. It has lots of vitamin A too which fights infections. You can do the yoga-exercises which I had suggested for increasing breathing capacity after this. When you stretch, it will also move around the salt-turmeric water in your belly and clean up the stomach well. c) And, sip another glass of water to wash off the salt-mucus in the stomach. It will get passed off in the urine. The above two exercises are very simple exercises to follow for anyone, but extremely beneficial. These, along with jal-neti, deep-breathing practise sessions, and the stretching exercises should help a lot. gayathri HotJobs - Search new jobs daily now http://hotjobs./
