Guest guest
Sat Nam everyone! On September 19 I had posted about the death of my step-father. I had also asked a question regarding a strange sensation I felt in my right hand during meditation. I was finishing a 90 day Ganputi meditation at the time. And I hadn't experienced that sensation at all before. I had originally chalked it up to emotional issues or possibly attempted contact by my step-father. Today is exactly one month since the accident. And I have that same sensation every time I meditate. I've begun doing the Smiling Buddha meditation. And that is done with arms raised to the sides (Ganputi keeps hands on knees). It doesn't seem to matter if my hands are down and relaxed or held in the air. I'm thinking maybe something else is going on. The sensation I get starts at my elbow and goes down to my pinkie, in a straight line. And it feels like it may be a nerve. I've felt prana in my body and know what that feels like. This doesn't feel like that. It starts with the feeling running down my forearm until it reaches my pinkie. Then I get this 'boring' sensation in the pad of my hand. The feeling is always in the exact same spot, and the area is very small. It doesn't spread or move around. It will vary with intensity and lasts anywhere from several minutes, to the entire length of the meditation. It stops when the meditation ends. The 'boring' sensation could be prana. It is kind of tingly and I can feel energy moving in a circular motion, like a drill bit going into wood. But the original sensation doesn't tingle. It feels like a nerve ending is being 'excited' or something. Are there any mudras that may put pressure or something on nerves to cause this? I'm curious if maybe I'm doing something wrong. And I get this sensation every time I meditate. I'm not sure what I'm doing differently. Anyone have any thoughts? Christa
