Guest guest
Sat Nam ya'll, These last couple of weeks have been really intense for me, but I've learned, or re-learned some things. Being rather new at all this I've made what I am sure are some "classic" errors. READ THE SMALL PRINT Somehow I don't remember anybody actually telling me that the first manifestations of kundalini energy are often intense, confusing and just plain icky feeling. There are things you can do to help yourself in the bad times. EVEN BARISZNYKOV HAD TO STRETCH: I got all in a hurry to use alot of the different things I was learning. What I wasn't, was prepared to use those things. I discovered that there are alot of channels, both spiritual and physical, that have to be opened and stabilized before I can do some of the more powerful healing meditations. Basically, until I can have control of my breath, fingers and sphincter all at the same time, I need to keep to the basics: Adi Mantra, Sat Nam, and Sa Ta Na Ma. TAKE IT TO THE MAT I prefer doing meditations to the physical work of yoga. I'm a BIG OL water sign, so it's kinda the way of my people. But I've felt recently a "thinning of the veil", if you will. Whether that is because the kundaini energy is making more aware of the astral realms or if it's because I'm approaching the first anniversary of my own near-death experience, I don't know. The point is, not only does the physical work open some of those affore mentioned channels, but it keeps me feeling me body. While my mind may wander wherever it needs to, the mat work keeps me attached to this "here and now" I also want to put in a word for the idea that, the more inner care I take, the more outter care I need. Whether it's giving myself a massage, treating myself to a Dreamcycle or taking a long walk in the sunshine, it's important that I take the time I need. Different things are happening in my body, my spirit, my life, so I naturally need more time to enfold them within myself. A little self pampering goes a LONG way! DALAI LAMMA TO NEW YORK HOT DOG VENDOR,"QUICK! MAKE ME ONE WITH EVERYTHING!" Not only is that the only sortta spiritually based joke I know, but it sums up my western inculturation perfectly. We all want it NOW! But it's not an event is it? It's a process. I've found alternate nostril breathing good for my impatience. That stuff is like yoga valium! 6 minutes and I'm MUCH transformed. I know this is all "baby-step" stuff, but that's where I am with all this, I've only been doing it a couple of months. Sat Nam, Leo
Guest guest
Sat Nam Leo and everyone, Thank you for your wonderful and inspiring words, Leo. Simplicity is always the best path, and always the one I return to. Oh, but how I love to study and analyze everything. I want to know everything, but I don't want to know everything! LOL After my awakening, I was like a kid in a God's "candy store" -- sometimes I still am. I want to taste everything -- all the things I missed and was never fully aware of before. But that's OK. I can sample everything along the way. And by the way, that NY coney sounds delicious! I can't live on candy all the time! Love and light and laughter Sioux B
