Guest guest
Sat Nam everyone! Guess what! This past Saturday I took a ky class, my second one so far. (imagine me doing Snoopy's happy dance here). I was SOO excited. I was able to get a lot of feedback on the sets that I had been doing. I was doing a lot of them correctly. But there were a lot that I had been doing incorrectly as well. And it's interesting because I would do them just as described in the book, but there were some slight nuances that I didn't know about, that made a huge difference to me. Spinal flexes and cobra were the two that I think I had the most trouble with, and those were the two that I thought were easiest...sheesh! At the end of the session, she had may lay in corpse pose and she sat in easy pose beside me. She said she was going to do something, she said the name in sanskit, but I couldn't understand what she was saying. We meditated like that for several minutes. And just about the whole time, I was seeing flashes or circles of pink. Which was strange to me at first, because whenever I meditate it's usually either black or a bluish-purple color. I've never seen any other color. Occasionally a streak of black would flash across the pink or around the edge, then would disappear. I had assumed that my heart center was beginning to open up and got a bit excited. I also assumed that the black streaks were signs of the blockages I had at that point. At the end of the meditation, she got up to get us some yogi tea and told me to lay there. So I closed my eyes again. But the pink was completely gone. Then it hit me, the pink must have been coming from her. But I still wasn't sure what she was doing. When she came back, she said that I needed to relax more after yoga. I don't lay there long enough and allow my body to assimilate (which is true). She also told me that she could see a lot of the head/heart stuff coming into play. She also mentioned something about my 2nd chakra. I don't remember her saying that it was blocked, but I got the impression that it was. She commented about being creative, but either not allowing myself to be creative or not letting the creativity flow. I'm hoping that I can help open up the 2nd chakra now that I've figured out how to correctly do the spinal flexes. Does anyone know what I'm describing here at the end? What is the name and what does she do/see when she does this? I wasn't expecting this and had never read/heard about this before. Thanks! Guest guest
Hey there Christa, Keep up your efforts with "Balancing the Head and Heart" Kriya. Those deep squats are working the lower triangle and at the risk of quoting myself I will remind you that good elimination promotes rejuvenation. And rejuvenation opens things up to be creative (or procreative....the choice is yours). Them first chakra (First Body...remember?) blues can really hold a person back. First chakra is about "me, me, me", security stuff. It's when we resolve some of this stuff that energy is freed up to be more "we, we, we" and in the second chakra which has with the "urge to merge". Of course, his can create a whole lotta challenges, especially if your nervous system can't handle the extra "voltage". A lot of people who are opening up their Kundalini can get "hornier than a box of rabbits". For this we need to keep a pot of real strong ginger tea around to help the nerves be strong enough to deal. Have it with milk and honey to taste. On a scale of one to ten, how are your digestion and elimination anyway? Regarding the pink you saw, second chakra has red aura. Pure spirit or the full integration of all the auric colors is white. White and red make Pink. Pink is spiritual love or unconditional love. Ciao for now, Dharam spatialagent1 wrote: > When she came back, she said that I needed to relax more after yoga. > I don't lay there long enough and allow my body to assimilate (which > is true). Guest guest
Sat Nam Christa, Sounds like an amazing yoga class, so glad you made it! Your teacher was giving you Sat Nam Rasayan -- a healing modality using energy and space. I have received it, but I haven't learned to give it yet, so maybe someone else on the list can tell you more about that. I am a Reiki practitioner and understand it from that point of view... it is similar in some ways, but I find SNR to be much, much more powerful. How lovely for you! You are blessed! Guest guest
> Keep up your efforts with "Balancing the Head and Heart" Kriya. Those deep squats are working the lower triangle I'm still doing the head/heart set. I changed it from one minute each to proportional times like you said. But I had to stop a few seconds on the crow squats. I was doing them for 1.5 minutes. Just after one minute, my legs felt like they were going to collapse. I stood for a few seconds, then continued to finish the 1.5 minutes. I know I should try to work through the feelings. Hopefully I'll improve with practice. But my legs were shaking after finishing the set and I could hardly walk, they felt really weak. I've also noticed that after I do this set, I need to eat. My legs are shaky, but my hands and everything else begins to get a little shaky as well. This usually happens when I get very hungry. So I will grab some popcorn or eat some butter bread (anything somewhat bland and 'bready', if that's a word). > to merge". Of course, his can create a whole lotta challenges, especially if your nervous system can't handle the extra "voltage". When I told her what set I had been doing regularly, the flexible spine series, she said that she could already tell it's really helped either my nervous or immune system, I forget which one she said. But I didn't get the connection or understand how she could tell that. I'm also occasionally doing archer pose (not daily or weekly though). And once or twice a week I do nabhi kriya. I believe Archer helps with the nervous system. What else is a good kriya to do for the nervous system? A lot of people > who are opening up their Kundalini can get "hornier than a box of rabbits". LOL....haven't had any increased urges here. > On a scale of one to ten, how are your digestion and elimination anyway? If ten is the best, I think I'm probably at a 9. I don't have any problems with digestion, that I'm aware of. I've noticed a significant increase in elimination several months ago. I had attributed it to diet (going vegetarian). Thanks for the insight Dharam! Christa
Guest guest
> Your teacher was giving you Sat Nam Rasayan -- a healing modality using > energy and space. Yes, that 'sounds' exactly like what she said. Thanks, Ranjit! I was very excited about having the class and VERY pleased with what I was able to get out of it. I definately have a list of things to work on. And once I feel more comfortable about incorporating the techniques she's given to me to work on, I may try to get back for another class to check my progress and get some guidance on 'next steps'. I'll keep everyone posted with my progress (as usual!) Christa

Hopefully I'll improve with > practice. Okay now, you have all this athleticism going on plus you have this challenge of needing to come from Heart and not head. Bump it down several notches. DO NOT move without the breath integrally tied to each movement. It's all too easy to "goose" the adrenals just to get through. The moment your breath is not with the movement, STOP, LOOK, LISTEN to Your Heart.... (the Stylistics). No, but seriously. Get subtle, keep your focus, mind and body moving together. Notice your feelings and breath into everything with a relaxed mouth, face and tongue. No Grimaces or gritting of teeth....only soft smiles and soft eyes. Surrender to this process and disappear. I'll see you the beach. [image] Check out http://www.vedanet.com/Asana.htm for more on the subtleties. Whatever feelings I don't consciously acknowledge during my yoga, I keep an appointment with during the chanting and meditation. And you're doing good by keeping Nabhi in your life. > But my legs were shaking after finishing the set and I > could hardly walk, they felt really weak. I've also noticed that > after I do this set, I need to eat. After Tantric or heavy meditations Yogiji would suggest we all get Ginger Parantha. These are good with yogurt. The nervous system does like the ginger and the carbos (I guess) from the wheat are good because the brain needs the energy. Meditation and yoga can use a lot of energy. Thanks, Ranjit! > Sat Nam Christa, We work on Sat Nam Rasayan at the end of almost every KY class here in San Diego. I would recommend "Anatomy of Miracles" by Subagh Singh Khalsa. This should give you more insight to Sat Nam Rasayan. Blessings, ~Jeffrey
Guest guest
Thanks a bunch Jeffrey. I'll check it out. Christa
Guest guest
I've been thinking of doing both in my classes. How long are the classes you take? And do you have any feedback on what would be a good length of time for KY and SNR together. Seva Simran
Guest guest
Sat Nam Seva Simran! I wasn't sure if this is addressed to me or not. This particular class lasted about 1.5 hours. The SNR part (which was one on one) lasted only about 5 minutes. But this was only my second class and my first session of SNR. I'm not sure if this helps or not, but I would highly recommend getting input from others as well. Christa
