Guest guest
Sat Nam Everyone! I'm not sure if this is related to the smiling buddha med I'm doing or part of the head/heart balancing set I've been doing lately, or something else. But The past several days, I've noticed sensations like the inside of my body is vibrating. The ringing that's been in my ears for months seems louder and at a much higher pitch than before. And last night, after relaxing after the flexible spine set, I felt like there was a mild pressure in my heart center, just off to the left side (closer to my heart). The pressure wasn't negative, but rather felt like someone was gently touching me there. The pressure was very similar to the pressure I feel when I meditate on my 6th chakra. Beyond the changes in physical sensations, I've noticed subtle inner changes starting. I'm feeling more connected than before starting the meditation. I'm also feeling more forgiving of myself and my short- comings. That forgiveness of myself is so HUGE for me. My 40 days of this med ends next Friday. But I'm considering extending the med for 90 days. I feel like I'm beginning to see internal changes that I really like and really want to focus on. I'll keep everyone posted as this progresses. Guest guest
Yeah vibrating Christa! This is all beautiful to read of. Everything you are doing is contributing to your sensations. The head/heart set is definitely bringing your focus more within he Heart. Smiling Buddha is powerful that way, also. I do have two questions, though. Are you still needing to eat after doing the head/heart balancing set? Have you any other sense of what that was about? And my other question is are you doing any sort of chanting? Chanting, to me, is the celebration after all of that focused work. It gives a wonderful integration of the whole you, along with the ringing, mild pressures (positive or not). Chanting is the feminine aspect of being (right brain), while the yoga is often a little weighed in the direction of the masculine (left brain). Regardless, have a delicious layout after your yoga and allow flow time between each posture. I often will do 2 -3 minutes between postures when I practice. Guest guest
Thanks Dharam...you cheerleader you! > I do have two questions, though. Are you still needing to eat after doing the head/heart balancing set? Have you any other sense of what that was > about? I've been doing the head/heart set in the mornings. And I usually follow it with the heart opener med. This morning, I was hungry, but it wasn't the shakey hunger I felt earlier. I'm not sure why, honestly. I also have begun doing what you suggested which is breathing with the movements and focusing on my heart beat. Its amazing. I never stopped to actually 'feel' my heart beat before. I could hear it and feel it in my ears, my finger tips and other places. And when I would struggle (you guessed it -- in crow squats) I would stop, hold the position, breath and just focus on the beat of my heart. I actually felt stronger finishing that set this morning when I did that. Thanks for the advice! > And my other question is are you doing any sort of chanting? I don't in the morning. Hubby doesn't 'do' yoga. And I'd wake him up if I did it in the morning. I was chanting to the meditations I was doing in the evenings, but I do the Smiling Buddha in the evenings now, and that's silent. So not chanting lately. >Regardless, have a delicious layout after your > yoga and allow flow time between each posture. I often will do 2 -3 minutes between postures when I practice. I had only been puasing for 30 seconds to 1 minute after each pose up till this past weekend. In my mind, if I waited longer between poses, I was 'cheating'. It goes to the western mentallity of exercise "go, go, go, don't stop, keep going..." But after my class on Saturday, she said several times I need to pause longer between and after sets. I've now begun to just BE for 2-3 minutes between each one. And I will lay in corpse pose at the end for about 5 minutes. And I can tell a difference there too. So I think I'm just beginning to put a lot of things together for where I am right now (good meditation, good kriya, longer pauses, longer layout) and I'm now finally beginning to 'get the hang' of this. (It ONLY took 8 months) Christa
Guest guest
Shaky hunger is blood sugar more often than not, which can be aggravated by emotions (if that is the case) or can be aggravated by intense anerobic movement that surpasses the aerobic level of fitness of the individual. This is why it is important when doing movements that you be completely mindful, co-ordinating all parts of the mind and body to move at the pace that is right for your tattvas. Guest guest
I think it was blood sugar. I haven't had that problem again. Although surprassing my fitness level is certainly a possibility! I have a REALLY basic question. What's a tattva? I think I've seen the word only once or twice, but I don't know what it means/refers to. Christa
Guest guest
Tattva basically refers to the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, space) which make up all things. Everybody is born with a certain kind of organisation (a little more of this, a little less of that). Thus we see that everybodys needs in terms of yoga and diet and pace of life is a little bit different because the basic integrity of the elements - your innate style or mood - has to be maintained or else distress occurs. Guest guest
Deb, Since I rarely have the vibrations before exiting (though the times I did, I throughly enjoyed them) it is hard for me to comment much on them. Obviously it is not stopping me from commenting. : ) I have been in that place of almost exiting and knowing that the door is near. The thing that stops me usually is " trying " rather than " being " . I get caught up in the " this worldly " way of making things happen instead of just " being " where I want to be. When I have been in that situation I try to enjoy the vibrations and give myself up to them. Release. However, the process of exploration is probably more meaningful then whether you " get out " or not. Enjoy. Guest guest
Hello Deb, Sam, For me the astral vibrations have a directional signature. Head to toes then toes to head in a rapid cycle. Then I just lift. I do not always have them either. Mostly at the beginning for me and especially during sleep paralysis. I think I enjoyed them too much and it became a block to leaving that way for me. Kundalini vibrations will come during sleep and waking periods. These vibrations can escalate into full body shaking that will resemble a grand mal seizure. Isn't though. Muscles can be strained if you resist and flexations beyond the norm for the person can be achieved, all while you are wide awake. An internal hurricane at its height. Spinal energy sweeps up the spine, cracking the spine from the inside out to the point where you can actually hear the bones cracking and widening. Not painful though. Feet curling, third eye throbbing, Fingers unbreakable in the Kundalini mudra as if they are glued together. This can be a continuous pattern for a time. Very exciting and somewhat scary experiences though. - blessing up - chrism
Guest guest
Chrism, I did the Bandhas after the 5 Tibetans today. I was in the gym and didn't expect to start physically shaking. Later I thought that maybe I should have been self conscious with the other people around, but I wasn't. Must have been a nervous system overload. : ) Everything settled down as I got into the nostril breathing. Very interesting. The experience of the Bandhas is definately deeper after the 5 Tibetans or during vigorous exercise or sexual activty.
