Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have been practicing yoga for about a year (hatha) and kundalini yoga for about 3 months - both in a class 2x a week and incorporating it into my morning and evening sadhanas (which also include rituals and prayers from some other traditions). I have some time off at the end of December and was thinking about heading down to Florida for Winter Solstice. As a pagan, Solstice/Yule is one of my holiest days, and I would love to spend it with other conscious people. However, I am a bit worried about the amount of meditation that will be happening. I mean, whether I can do it or not. Sometimes I have trouble sitting still and concentrating long enough to do 11 minutes of meditation, much less a whole day! I have noticed that in a class setting, if I can open up to the energy of the class, we are all able to go far beyond our what we thought we could do. However I have visions of being with thousands of other people all serenely meditating and me jumping up and moving around because I've got the squirms and being kicked out or something! Just wondering from some of you Solstice and KY oldtimers if you can think back to your first few months of daily disciplined meditation and whether it was possible for you to attend Solstice or not. Thanks, Eric
Guest guest
Hi Eric, the group energy will carry you, if you let it. Nothing like 300 or so fellow souls chanting and doing White Tantric during the darkest and shortest days of the days to "change your oil". You'll be resonating so strongly with those around that you'll cry, you'll shake, you'll chant right through whatever it is that would cause you to want to get and run. It's about checking in with your essence.... Not to be missed!
