Guest guest
Sat Nam, Yes, I am a migraine sufferer! I have done quite a bit of research on it this past year, and unfortunately there is very little known about what causes them and how to prevent them. Doctors will throw at you things about your diet, stress, caffeine, blah blah blah... whatever! I have had migraines during some of the most healthy, mellow times in my life. I take Immitrex or other neuro-inhibitors when they occur, which sometimes help.... & sometimes don't... sigh... There were some tips posted to this list once that mentioned other things you can do when they occur -- cold rag on forehead, a pressure point in the elbow, also I remember posting the Mahasirs mudra for headaches. So do a search on to find that thread. I have tried all of them! And they help a little to relieve the pain during an attack, but alas, are hardly satisfying while you are experiencing the pain of a migraine. Nothing as yet has been suggested to prevent them as far as I know. One thing that helps me spiritually when I have a migraine, is I begin thanking God for everything I can think of, including the migraine. Praying (like a maniac!) helps me to get through it, and I absolutely have to trust that God is there and taking care of me or I can hardly deal with it. I receive acupuncture on a monthly basis, before menstruation, to help prevent migraines. So far this is the only tangible treatment that seems to help me at this point in time... but I still get them. I am holding out for Yogi Bhajan to prescribe "Kriya to Cure Migraines" since I haven't found anything in Kundalini Yoga that addresses it yet... still searching, asking, wondering... At Master's Touch, Yogi Bhajan told me that when you have a disease or illness, it is just your Karma. That it is just you working out your karma, and you can be grateful for the opportunity to be paying it off. This may sound frustrating or harsh, but it actually gave me immense relief. It just made sense to me and gave me some resolution. In fact, I had a couple experiences with Yogi Bhajan around the migraine thing that led me to believe he is now taking care of it for me. I am so nervous about sharing that!!! Because I don't know how to explain it. But I do know that he definitely did several things for me to relieve me of the anxiety and fear of having a migraine during the course. And I am so grateful. More will be revealed, I guess... Sorry for such a long email, I usually try to keep it short But I felt the calling to share this experience now, thanks Deva. God bless & good luck! Guest guest
To all you migraine sufferers, Y'all probably already know this, but I just thought I'd throw it in on the offchance that somes might not. My daughter suffers from migraines, and years ago her doctor told us to try one tylenol and one excedrin together - (not the migriane excedrin the regular kind) It works far better than any prescripton medication for her. Hope this helps somebody...... Avtar ______________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month!
