Guest guest
NO BREATHING FOR 11 MINUTES??? Is this right? Surely the migraine will go away if you are dead! LOL!! Please clarify. Mark
Guest guest
>From "Healing Through Kundalini: Specific Applications" Migraine (12 minute minimun) Sit in easy pose, hands in gyan mudra, arms straight at a 70 degree angle out and up from the sides. With closed eyes, look to your hairline. Hold the posture with no breathing for at least I I min. Then relax the hands down onto the knees and chant, in a monotone, "We are love" for 1-2 min. Comments: This meditation is good for headaches, especially migraine. Pain in the back and behind the shoulders while doing it is a sign of weak blood circulation. Guest guest
Whoops! That's "normal breathing" for 11 minutes. Some pain is a good sign!..that we are still alive. Thanks, Dharam The corrected version is below Migraine (12 minute minimum) Sit in easy pose, hands in gyan mudra, arms straight at a 70 degree angle out and up from the sides. Guest guest
Satnam ji's Made me chuckle at the no breathing. I almost ran to check the book!!! I have found that the sa ta na ma meditation known as Kirtan kriya has helped with anything long term in connection with the brain. It balances all dysfunction in that area if you do it consistently. Also lying on the back and raising the head of the floor for a couple minutes also has helped me when I have had headaches. It was difficult in the beginning but after about 15 minutes of doing it the headache was gone! Just 2 minutes of it.It should be in the kundalini special applications book. Good luck s.i.r.khalsa

Guest guest
Well, I have tried to avoid this topic -since I haven't had a migraine in 6 years (sound of knocking on wood) but I want to share a bit of what I've learned. I also took immutrx injections at the start of the aura -I actually became blinded at the start of my migraines It was very frightening. I tried everything. What finally seemed to work was telling my boss to go to hell and starting my own company! Athough that didn't lower my stress at all;-) I reduced red meats (miss my pemincan), MSG, fatty foods, started sleeping regular hours and exercising. I think it was a matter of everything combined not just one thing -although quitting was very satisfying! The last migraine I had was two months after I quit -no health insurance and I had no injections! But I remember a Chinese doctor told me at the very first sign of a migraine to stick hands and feet into the hottest water I could stand (no pun intended) and this would dilate the blood vessels WOW did it work! I still felt a bit dizzy and numb for a few hours but I didn't loose my sight nor did I lie in bed for three days in agony! Well, I hope you find that one of the many suggestions works for you -this is a terrible affliction On Thursday, November 21, 2002, at 01:29 PM, jaapsahib wrote: > Satnam ji's > Made me chuckle at the no breathing. Guest guest
Dear All, I took a course for healers several years ago in Aug in Espanola and Yogi Bhajan taught every afternoon. One of the treatments was for migraines. His driver had migraines and YB did this procedure on him and he said he never had another one. I did it once on someone and they felt a lot of relief, but I don't know if they had any later on. I will give what I remember. I was assuming that the chiropractors and healers present would write it up. I haven't seen it even in the book that shares a lot of those treatments. My notes are not in my possession. But here is what I remember. The person stands. Someone else beats with fists on the person's upper thighs for 3 minutes. Hard. Then he beats on either side of the navel center. Then he beats on the buttocks. ( I can't remember if that is the order.) But I am pretty sure of the locations and beating with the fists. For those suffering from migraines have someone do this when you are not having a migraine. Although I do think I did this to someone while she was having a migraine and it stopped. Someone must know someone who was at that course who remembers. It was the first 5 day course for healers in Espanola. Guest guest
I have the transcript of a healers class done almost 20 years ago and have seen nothing in print outlining things that were shared in that class. There seems to be a hole in the distribution of information and this is an example of it. If you hear anything more about that kind of information please let me know. Seva Simran. Guest guest
On another list, some one suggested open your crown chakra, and let the energy flow out. I have tried this, and it helps, but only for a few moments. I suppose if I could concentrate longer, it would be better. shoshana
Guest guest
Hi again, I was at that first healers course and he did teach a lot of "hitting" the body therapy at the time I loved it.There is a manual of that course by one of the chiropractors if I remember clearly. The course was wonderful. I think I will get a treatment to. s.i.r.khalsa
Guest guest
Gururattan Kaur, I got to do this last night finally! I got my friend/teaching partner to beat on me, bless his heart hee hee! It was both alot of fun and also painful. I'm a little sore today I just hope this is the proper prescription after all that! ha ha ha!! Did anyone else ever come forward who was there to confirm this one? Thanks so much for all your guidance and generosity, Love Ranjit > The person stands.
