Guest guest
Sat Nam everyone. My sadhana begins at 4 am eastern time (I'm at work by 7) so if anyone else begins at that time, know I'll be chanting then as well. I'm glad to hear about the new sadhana in Cambridge on Sunday mornings (Dharam's link). Group sadhana is such a blessing. Guest guest
Luis, I try to sleep 7 hours a night- with more flexibility on days I'm not at my job. I spend my commute reading Japuji or texts on yoga and practice. I'm fully charged for a long part of the day from Sadhana, but really I spend a good part of my day chanting in my head and try to work in an economical way, with my actions as meditative as I can manage, if you know what I mean. I stretch a lot and have the luxury of working with music, so I can play my favorite mantras and my partners just think it's interesting music. I don't depend on coffee, because it drains my energy, and I eat kitcheree for lunch most days. I work in a chaotic, high paced atmosphere so I practice controlling my sensory intake ( I'm trying to understand the concept of pratyahara, see Dharam's letter from August 27 - The Essence of Instruction) as much as necessary to remain in focus and able to be a source of energy for others around me. And really, I work way too much and get into bed as soon as I can after my evening meditation. The days that I miss my sadhana are usually the days that I'm most tired. That's it- I have a simple life, really. Karen >Karen, How many hours do you sleep per day? how can you >start at 4 without being sleepy all the day long?
