Guest guest
Greetings everyone! I am new to this group and I hope to learn much! To begin with, I have been blessed with the pleasure of running across Eight Human Talents by Gurmukh Khalsa at the library. I checked it out and read it and just reading it has changed me in some way. I have started focusing on the Root Chakra (to begin at the beginning, so to speak). I have incorporated some of her suggestions from the book. This morning I did wake up with a subtle ache in my lower back region. Nothing overly upsetting. I just want to know if that is to be expected? I'm taking it slow, not wanting to hurt myself and realizing that time heals all wounds. Since I am a beginner at this, is there any helpful information that some of you more advance practitioners can share with me? I am thoroughly looking forward to hearing from any and all of you!! Blessed Be. ~Jahdess~
Guest guest
Sat Nam Jahdess and welcome to the board! I began my ky practice this year with that same book. I would recommend, though, before you get too into it, to review the archives on this list. There are many nuances to techniques, breathing, mudras and mantras that aren't addressed in the book, but have been a huge help to me. The biggest is tuning in. Gurmukh doesn't explain this in her book. I think her book is very good, but (and this is ONLY my opinion) I don't think it is geared towards beginners. Details on tuning in are in the archives as well. In fact Dharam did a great one just about a month or so ago. Good luck and let us know how you are progressing. Also, the people here are wonderful. So any questions you have, just go ahead and post. Christa
Guest guest
Greetings Dear Christa, Please oh please excuse the overwhelming delay in responding to your post. As we know, life has an awesome way of sometimes getting in the way of what it is we're supposed to be doing. Thank you so much for your suggestions. As I am one who is BIG on meditation, I don't think the "tuning in" part is going to be that difficult. I will most assuredly read the archives as you've suggested to gain more knowledge of the various techniques. Be blessed in all that you do! ~Jahdess~ Kundaliniyoga, "spatialagent1" <spatialagent1> wrote: > Sat Nam Jahdess and welcome to the board! > > I began my ky practice this year with that same book.
