Guest guest
Hi, I am new with KY. However, I found the few streching exercises very helpful but suddenly, everythuing changed! I started experiencing more pains than normal. The knees, Spine, Ribs, Ankles etc started to hurt. Perhaps, I presumed, it was because I tried to achieve any posture- even if it hurts so badly...but I realised that as I stopped the Asanas for a day, the Pains got worse, so I continued, this time more genlly then before but i still feel much pain in the process! I believe there should be a way out with YOGA too, so I never saw a Doctor but I still however need some help here!!! What should I do? How do I get pain-free??! I'd also love to know how to perfectly master the Half-Lotus pose, comfortablly! I'd be really glad to get help from this Group. Thank You all... Snenry Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Guest guest
Sat Nam Snenry! I'll let others address the pain questions. As for the half lotus, I enjoy that one the best. I'm not sure how long you've been practicing yoga, I've only been doing it about 9 months now. I started out doing easy pose for most asanas that called for it. When I meditated, I would do easy pose as well. Even half lotus at that time I couldn't hold more than a few seconds. However, I just kept practicing. Every time I did yoga, I would sit as long as I could in half lotus. ANd it progressively got longer. Now I use half lotus instead of easy pose for a lot of the postures because I find it more comfortable. Basically just practice is all I can recommend. I can get into a full lotus now, but again, not for very long. There's no 'quick fixes' here, but just a lot of persistance. Good luck and keep up the practice. The pains may be from using muscles you didn't know you had (I certainly had that occur too when I first started). Christa
Guest guest
I'm wondering if you just overdid it a bit with new exercises... Kundalini Yoga can be a serious workout. Take it easy and try just the basics first. You know you can reduce the times of exercises in a kriya? Like doing something for 1 minute instead of the maximum 3. You should probably do that as a beginner. I get sore after almost every KY kriya I practice! HA! Something that I have never felt before will hurt like devil! But it's a good pain, like I needed to work that muscle finally, you know? I like stretching out a bit in the evening after a challenging KY practice that day to help alleviate any soreness the next day. Sometimes it helps! Sat Nam and just keep up and you'll be kept up! ranjit > I am new with KY. However, I found the few streching > exercises very helpful but suddenly, everythuing > changed!
