Hi Leo and all,

You are what you eat! If you eat animals, you are ingesting their motion

(prana). Yoga is about creating a stillpoint....a stopping of the

motions or pranas. If you are having to process all the animal natures of

rabbits, chickens and deer then you may be drawn from your own central

issues and your own balance.....However! It is quite possible that sometimes you

may open yourself to aspects of your own nature that may

previously have been out of reach. Sometimes we can't (or wont) get through to

our central or core issues that would serve us in the process of

knowing our personal truth. Maybe we are isolated. I have even heard that some

Buddhists will take meat for the simple reason of remaining

grounded in the reality of suffering. I mean, we are here to do work and if you

are in your head and off in the clouds how can you be of any

impact on this earth plane. We are temporal as well as spiritual creatures.

Earth and Heaven.

If eating of the "Body of Christ" reminds us of suffering so that we may take it

in deeply and relate and in doing so, transform ourselves, than

so be it. But you have to eat it reverence and love. It's a exercise in humility

and it's actually quite beautiful

But you gotta chew really well!

Dharam

P.S. I used to hunt (22 years ago) and know some things from this experience.

When I shot a rabbit, for instance, I would eat a piece of it's

still steaming warm liver or heart to stay close to the experience and relate. I

would get this incredibly rich and warm feeling thoughout my

whole body and there was a richness in my general being that lasted for a couple

of days.

I did have to stop and that is another story that takes to the present

Well, I don't know if Humans are superior. I do know that

one of their major religions centers itself around an act of ritual

cannibalism, only they call it 'communion'. I also know that animals are people

too and there are circumstances when I would probably eat a Human

just as easily as a Bovine. Remember, you're not immune from the food chain,

you're just on top - for now.
