Guest guest
Dear Kartar Kaur, While the Nam can never be hidden, the pervasive consciousness of the Nam (which is the sense of "I" within the body) is shrouded by the Veil of the illusion of the idea of an identity of the "I" sense to the names and forms (thoughts and images, with related bodily sensations) that appear variously in the mind. This "I" sense, which lights each of us born in the world, is also That which illumines the universe from the smallest atomic particle to the totality of existence. The Veil is the simple"notion" that these are 2. And yet the Saviors and Saints come to us again and again to tell us that there is only One Truth out of which and within which appears this Universe, and It is our True Identity. Simply to "hear" this message, means that That which is True recognizes Itself in the simple statement. When this happens the Veil lifts and the Totality of Being shines forth. You discover, with crystal clarity in the depth of your Heart, that your sense of "I" always associated with names and forms, is actually single, all-pervasive, timeless and uncaused. For those that have not heard this simple Truth and felt the churning of the force of prana transforming the body and mind, these words may seem like a matter of philosophical discussion, an interesting concept. Others may feel that there is something in the words that rings true, but "how to grasp It?" With Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, the body and mind are systematically charged and the flow of energy balanced and rebalanced until, within the pervading brightness, a deepening of the prana gives way to a satvic purity that results in the mind becoming inward bent. The mind comes to a still point and there is a timeless pause within which there is the soundless reverberation of the "I" pulsing as "I" without a corresponding thought or image. And this moment has in it such a force or power (shakti),, simultaneously both dissolving and outshining that no other thoughts or images can arise. This is the lifting of the Veil, wherein the Self (Atman as Brahman - Parbhram-akal) shines forth. The idea of distinctions and separations - near and far, simply dissolves like a morning mist as the sun rises. The Truth that our consciousness is single and pervasive and the substratum of all appearances is recalled and we abide as that simple Truth, no thoughts, no images, no impressions. Only clarity remains like a diamond, wherein occasionally there may arise the thought, full of penetrating meaning - .... uncaused....... unconditioned ........... without time ....... spacelike ........... no doer..... This Veil is simply a concept within the mind that the Nam does not shine forth. In Reality, there is only the shining of the Nam, such that the simple "hearing" of this Truth is sufficient to dissolve the notion of the Veil.....
