Guest guest
Someone sent me cold shower info that had been posted before my time here. I can see this topic has been done to death! But! Happy to report I understand what I'm doing in there now. I like the "lake Michigan" technique, that's pretty much what I was doing except I was calling it the Hokey pokey...ya put your right in... Ha Ha! I also like the idea of chanting Wahe Guru!! Although I'm pretty sure my husband wouldn't like that idea as much as I would at 4am! Guest guest
Over the past couple of months, ever since I got the tips from Dharam/Peiter's posting on cold showers, I have been trying the cold shower bath. It is actually a very cool thing to do, I realized. While I was always quite towards a cool shower ( I never felt fresh after a warm/hot water bath, it made me feel tired instead), it was quite a challenge in snowy winters. My baths usually were pushed towards afternoons, took a long while as I contemplated whether to step into the bath at all, and had goose pimples, once I stepped in, even from lukewarm water. The vigorous oil rubs followed by a vigorous scrubbing in small circles when cold water is poured has alleviated all these problems of mine. It also just brings the body temperature to the right level of warmth it needs (not too hot/too cold). This makes you feel plain fresh. I also do not have dry skin, unlike in previous snowy winters I experienced (and, the moisturizers never really helped then). I noticed, though, that if I do not apply oil before the cold shower, my finger tips tend to go numb for a while after the vigorous scrubbing with icy cold water. Bathing in cold water has become a very nice experience, actually a looking-forward-to-ritual, for me everyday. Thanks very much to the people who sent in the tips on cold-shower baths. BTW, this new year's occasion, I wish you all a very healthy life and also all the good things in all spheres of life. Enjoy, Gayathri Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.
