Guest guest
Sat Nam everyone, I wanted to share a simple exercise my teacher gave me 3 years ago to connect with my soul's desires. I do it every new years for sure and periodically throughout the year on more specific issues. I often ask students before healing or going to a healing workshop what their intention is and they often give me the deer caught in the headlights look! Tuning into your soul's desires and working consciously with them will create forward movement in your life. After tuning in and doing a little yoga and some breathing or meditation, close your eyes... Ask yourself... What doing I really, really want/need? And listen...go into the heart and sense and feel and hear... Allow an answer to come... If you're really in your head, you may experience anxiety at this point because the pressure's on to come up with an answer... but this isn't a thinking exercise...so come back into your heart and your senses and feel... let the thoughts pass through... just noticing them without grabbing onto them...just watching, listening and feeling...sensing... Have a pen handy and write down what you hear or see or feel. Your head will give you input(maybe not the highest caliber wants/needs) but write them down anyways, mixed in there will be the soul's desires. If you write everything down without judgement for a few days in a row, you will begin to see the fingerprint of the soul's desires. This serves several purposes for me. It makes me conscious of the direction my soul is trying to take me. It serves as a reminder to me in darker times that this is infact my intention, so any circumstance of my life at this moment, even though unpleasant or painful, is routing me towards my highest good and finally I get to look back at my year in review and notice where I've been and where I am currently. Change can happen so subtley that we sometimes aren't able to recognize it or we don't allow ourselves a moment to feel good about how far wev'e travelled! All Light and blessings for the New Year everyone, Sat Sangeet
