Guest guest
I find myself thinking about everyone else who has begun a 40 day practice of Sa Ta Na Ma as I begin to chant it, in my morning Sadhana. It's neat to think of that connection. This morning as I began to chant the mantra, I began to hear the words "seek refuge in the light" (I was reminded of Seva Simran's posting a few days ago)...paying attention to the space around me I noticed the room was filled with a very soft light almost like fog and I began to breath it in, saturating my body with this light, seeking refuge in it. I started to have an understanding that the mantra Sa Ta Na Ma is the "song of the soul" and by chanting it we birth the light of the soul into our everyday life, into our every moment. And then I was reminded of a lyric in a song I heard Peace Family sing at the all night Kirtan at winter solstice, It went something like "And God is all around". As they sang these words, the truth that God is in every molecule of the universe settled in my heart, and this morning as I noticed this light rising around me like a fog, I recognized this, as God, all around me. Then I was reminded of the words in Japji: How can I cut through the net of lies? How can I live in truth? The answer comes in the next line: Walk in God's will, within and without. ...Be congruent with your souls' desires/God's desires and surrender to that... ....keep relating to the light... breathe... the breath is light/energy/God... Since we've been discussing this mantra I just wanted to share this with you, (I'd also like to hear about other people's experiences wit this mantra !) Guest guest
What a beautiful posting, Sat Sangeet! I'm with you all in this. Started yesterday, as well. I had a revealing, powerful dream last night about an old matter of the heart. Very vivid. (BTW, your post earlier about the live music at Summer Soltice brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful. I've been meaning to tell you that.) Sat Nam all Michelle
