Westerners have played in the inner chamber of the Golden Temple only 4 or 5 times. The following is an account of the first few hours of this New Year in the Darbar Sahib. "Sada Sat Simran Singh, Jugat Guru Singh and Hari Mander Jot Singh were again asked to play inside the Golden Temple on this very special new years day. This is their third time playing and each time is just as moving and powerful for the Indian sangat and our students. On this occasion, Mata Mandir Singh from Amsterdam was also given permission to play with them. Guru Bachan Singh was with the Siri Singh Sahib right before they started playing and Hari Mander Jot, his son, called from his cell phone to tell them that were about to begin. Guru Bachan Singh then handed the phone to the Siri Singh Sahib who listened for nearly 15 minutes as our Khalsa brothers played and sang their hearts out. The Siri Singh Sahib was incredibly moved.
