Guest guest
Sat Nam Dharam!!!!!!! Thanks, thanks and again, thanks! I will write this information down in my journal. I will be purchasing the video tapes and Gururattan's books in about two weeks when I get my refund from school. I've been doing the cold shower things incorrectly. ALthough I do the breath of fire, I've been doing everything else wrong. I use soap--the authentic African Black Soap. It is excellent for washing away dead skin cells. Now let me ask you about the warm baths at night. I remember someone saying that it should be warm. Isn't that right? And should we do it before or after we meditate and do the postures? And one more thing, do any of you use incense when you all are doing these ritual baths? If so, which incense do you use? Guest guest
Hoy Toyb, Warm in the evening is fine or just about any other time. Soap, I guess is fine, but I am having many second thoughts about what kind (see earlier post on "Bathing from the Viewpoint of Ayurveda"). In a civil society folks do bathe. Regarding bathing before or after meditation. The basic idea is you want to be alert and in your senses and body when you sit to practice. If you sweat a great amount while doing yoga, then bathe later on but not immediately. Let your body re-absorb some it's glandular secretions. How are you handling the idea of gagging? You can use toothpaste but the alum/salt mixture is great for tooth and gum health. No incense necessary but it's your personal choice. I have added sandalwood oil to the massage oil for the smell, but it also helps balance Pitta. In general, ginger tea is great in the winter. Use a whole raw root chopped up real good and slow boil with a lid for 20 minutes. The add honey and milk to taste and to smooth it out a bit. Very good for the nervous system and channeling all that sexual energy that often accompanies awakening of the Kundalini.
