I find it helps me feel clearer and fresher when I practice sock-free... when you get hot from an active kriya it helps you keep cool aswell. Experiment.. you'll notice you feel better with socks off. If I'm practicing in a particularly cold place... I sometimes put my socks on at the beginning of deep relaxation to keep warm.
