Hello Gina,

It would seem that you have given yourself the answer to your own first

question: Meditation, whether it be mantra meditation, breath meditation,

walking meditation, silent meditation... WITH YOGA!

You ever wonder why it is that the animals in the wild do not acquire the same

devastating mental anguish (PTSD) that we do? Right after being chased and

scrapped by the tiger’s large teeth, froze for its certain death. When something

distracts the tiger away from the animal, it dramatically shakes, then gets up

to run back to its pack. All done with that event - no more.

It releases the traumatic energy that is built up in its body with that shake,

and it has no psychological damage. (Well, that is animals that have not been

under the constant hand of humans).

Candence Pert, a leading Neuro Scientist, had proven that there are molecules of

emotion running through out every speck of our body, not just in our heads.

There fore it would only go to reason that the western scientists are finally

catching up with the Sages of ancient times - Yoga and body movement done in a

specific way will release that pent up energy that is torturing us. When Yogi

Bhajan says: ” this set will work on your fear", it is simple Truth - not

assumption.

Of great importance however, is that we do not get reattached to the enlightened

memories of pain, when our inner doors begin to open. Simply know that we are

blessed to see them for what they are, and to understand what they are not. In

the same light though, do not close the inner doors that begin to open, out of

fear.

Though you must be your own teacher in the end, your inner guidance has much to

teach you.

My name is Bhagavati, and I have been working aggressively on breaking myself

FREE from the very place that you are. Other things that I work on are learning

how to socialize and communicate. Not only do we lock our emotions up, we lock

our beings up from the world for protection. A type of protection that has

worked so wonderfully well for us in the past, though is no longer needed.

Place your self in weekly "practice" socializing events - even though we both

know that we hate to do something so unfamiliar. Also, there is a book by Tian

Dayton PH.D: "Emotional Literacy". I found that to be a VERY good start.

Peace to you Gina.

Humbly, Bhagavati

Sat Nam everyone,

Well, I promised Gururattan that I would write something on this message

board since I am so wonderful at reading all your messages and not

participating. She said that there are a lot of qualified and wonderful

people on this board and someone will surely have some suggestions or help

for me. Anyway, I have PTSD(post traumatic stress disorder). I've had it for

about 3 years now. I get up and I go to school everday and I function, but I

have no emotions. They are stuck inside of me. Most of the pain I feel is in

my jaw and facial area or it feels like my emotions are all stuck in my

throat.Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking of going to see Guru

Dev Singh for Sat Nam Rasayan. Do you think this would be a good first step?

I would appreciate any suggestions from anyone. Oh, I did have on interesting

experience while I was on school break. I was using the tape that I purchased

from yogatech. It's the video done by Jagdish and there's a lot of pranayama,

which seems to calm me down. I had a vivid dream that I had both my hands

held up to God and I wanted to feel that he was there. I woke up crying and

it was the loud crying, where you are almost hyperventilating. Nothing like

this has ever happened to me. Once again, if anyone has any suggestions for

me or could suggest a particular person, please contact me. I am in LA.

Many blessings to all of you,

Gina
