Guest guest
Hi - I just got onto this group and have enjoyed the discussions so far. I'm a science teacher who started yoga a little over a year ago and wonder why it took me until I was 57 to find something I enjoy so much. I recently (4 months) began doing Kundalini yoga with a local instructor and find it powerful for me. I'm doing a great deal of reading about yoga and am particularly interested in seeing the scientific work that is being done on it. On another topic, I've seen several recent posts on PTSD. Having been there, I know yoga can be extremely powerful in helping to address both depression and ptsd. However, I feel strongly that professional help is necessary. I'm not sure I could have gotten through without it. That flat, hollow feeling, those tears from nowhere are like a 10-ton gorilla on your back continually and it needs to be gone. I am not in favor of taking drugs to cure everything but, on the other hand, I'm not in favor of not taking drugs that can help us. The Indians and indigenous peoples didn't go to the pharmacy but they used the chemicals they knew of that would help them.
