Sat Nam,

My experience with teaching parents and children in the same class has been a

very positive one. Normally a pose would be demonstrated and the

modifications would organically arise from the children. I found that it has

to be FUN to keep them interested and most of the parents loved getting to

act "silly" and still learn something as wonderful as KY. We don't always

have to be so serious and structured, let the desire to share your love of KY

emanate out of you as you let the class "teach" itself. Of course some

structure is desireable but learn from your students as well, whether they

are 6 or 60. Many people are not comfortable with chanting, but listening and

resonating with the chant and vibrations are certainly helpful and I have

found if given that permission to chant "silently" most people will join in

within a few classes. We all have our own comfort level, right?

Before teaching Yoga I taught high school Chemistry for many years and from

my past experiences people of all ages pretty much respond to and react to a

fun and exciting class. These are just some of my thoughts and experiences.

Namaste,

Rebecca
