Guest guest
Does anyone have any advice for people practicing KY who have, or have had, cancer and the radiation/chemotherapy treatments? Are there any major contraindications? Guest guest
Sat Nam Krishan-Shiva, I don't know about cancer particularly. I do know with HIV I have to do shorter sets and really focus on my subtle body. Be careful of inverted sets if your chemo is upsetting your stomach. Otherwise I'd say go to grdcenter.org. This is the Guru Ram Das Center for Health and Humanology. These folks have worked on just about everything! They should be able to give you some info. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing Leo. Just to let you know.. I don't have Cancer myself, it's someone I know. The reason I post, is to find out if anything in particular that we practice could aggravate it... perhaps working on the circulatory system, or breath of fire? I know very little about Cancer.. but have been approached to give individual classes to this lady, so would like to find out as much as I can about people who have had experience with Cancer and also worked with Kundalini Yoga and Meditation as part of their therapy. To find out about things that can help, but also to become aware of potential problems and contraindications, so as to help her guide her practice safely. Thanks! Brightest blessings, Krishan-Shiva Kaur _______________ The new MSN 8 is here: Try it free* for 2 months http://join.msn.com/?page=dept/dialup
Guest guest
Sat Nam Krishan-Shiva, The only other thing I know is that when I trained for massage therapy they said cancer was a contra-indication. The reason being that it moved too much lymphatic material and could aid the cancer in metastisizing. Leo

I've been away from my computer for about 3 weeks. Small crash. Repaired now. I am doing well in my chemotherapy. I'm feeling much stronger since the holidays, and must say I have missed you all enormously! Hope you are all well and strong. I have experienced a subtle shift at least in attitude. Am still doing all my meditations, but pain has not allowed much active KY for a while. Not cancer pain, but back pain. I was feeling well enough to twist my back while getting out of a chair, and stumbled while turning. My big feet caught on the table leg, and I gracefully landed on the sofa, but twisted my back in the process. My next chemotherapy is Monday 2-10-03, about 10:00 AM, CST. I pray you all will be with me once again. I must admit that I have a visual/imagery tape where I substitute all your faces. I've never seen any of you, but I have an imagery of you anyway. All my friends gathered round while I'm doing chemotherapy. That image has kept me strong for a long time now. Peace and Love Paula
