Guest guest
Sat Nam. I thought I would share with you all a recent experience I had. Recently, I had been unemployed for eight months and desperately in need of a fulfilling as well as lucrative position. After months of sending out hundreds of resumes and receiving virtually NO responses, landing a job seemed to become more and more of an unreal prospect, especially in this economy and living in the SF Bay area, which is hurting more than most parts of the country. Well, finally I got a call for an interview with one of the local universities here. I was pretty stressed, nervous and my self esteem was pretty shell shocked prior to the interview. I decided that I would do the set for Negativity on page 87 of Transitions to A Heart Centered World before going to the interview. Afterward, I felt great and headed to my interview. When I arrived it turned out that instead of interviewing with two people, as they had originally stated, there were now four people sitting at one end of a long conference table, and I at the other end. Normally, I would probably felt a little intimidated, but not that day. They informed me that they were each person was going to go around the table and ask me various questions and that I should answer as truthful and expressive as possible. Well, the first question was: "This job often times requires sitting in one place for long periods of time doing repetitive acts. How do you feel you could handle that?" Without hesitating I said, "Well I teach Kundalini yoga and often sit in the same position chanting the same mantra for extended periods of time. I am sure I would have no problem with that part of the job!" With that, all four individuals started laughing quiet loud. The of Human Resources then said that they had never had such an honest and creative answer before and enjoyed how I tied the two things together. After that, it was like the energy in the room totally lifted and became much less serious and a lot more open and free. The rest of the interview went very well and two days later they called to offer me the job! I feel that my getting this job was in great part to my KY practice and the profound effects it has had on me! I am truly devoted to my daily practice of KY!
