Guest guest
Sat Nam everyone , I just started the Sodarshan Chakrak Kriya Meditation last night , I seem to have a problem holding my breath before I can finish the 16 counts of Whahe Guru .. I can hold my breath if I do not pump at the navel point . Does anyone have any suggestion on what I can do to hold my breath so I can finish the counting ? One other question is there a mudra for the left hand or do you leave it relaxed on the thigh ? Peace & Love to all, Sadhana KaurGet more from the Web. Guest guest
Sat Nam Suzanne! I was smiling as I read your post. I had tried Sodarshan last year and had the same problem. I didn't have the lung capacity to hold, pump and release for 16 Wahe Gurus. I was told to start with 8 or 12, whatever you can comfortably do and then build up as you can. I personally got frustrated and stopped. However, I also decided to try it again this week (given all of the excitement about it this month). Well, I started doing it with 8 pumps and after a few sets, realized I wasn't straining at all to do 8. So with the next breath, I went up to 12. And again, there wasn't any strain or pressure to inhale/exhale. So I ended up going to 16 and was still comfortable. I guess after a few months of consistent ky practice, my lung capacity has increased to the point where I can do this with the full 16. I was pretty excited about it. So basically what I am suggesting is starting small (8 or 12) and increase the counts as you can comfortably do so. If it doesn't happen right away, don't worry. At some point, it will. Good Luck!! Oh, with the left hand, I use it to keep track of the counts (as has been described on the list many times). Christa
