Challenging yourself eh?! Thats the spirit!

 

Try working up to the 16 reps(48 pumps) level, your lungs need time to

adjust. Start with something you think you can do like 11 or 12 (33 or

36 pumps). You may even find that you will be able to move up while in

the middle of the meditation, listen to your body. Take a nice long,

slow, deep inhale, don't have to pump real hard, just a gentle pump.

 

"Does anyone have any suggestion on what I can do to hold my breath so I can

finish the counting ? One other question is there a mudra for the left hand or

do you leave it relaxed on the thigh ?"

 

--I always had my left elbow on a chair arm (I sit in a chair) and hand resting

on my thigh in Gian mudra.
