However, I notice when I fast I get a burning from my stomach into my chest. I end up chewing on papaya tablets for this. The tablets sometimes remove the burning and sometimes it just reduces it. Elephant kriya with salt water is a very good idea in this situation, or drink a glass of water with a couple of pinches of salt in the morning. gai Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Guest guest
Dear Gayathri, I know that we are advised to keep our bodies alkaline. You mentioned that > Salt is alkaline, and it will neutralize > the acidity. Would a pinch of salt in our drinking water alkalilze it? Thanks. Guest guest
Yes. But, one should not overuse salt, as this will interfere with other functions. If adequate water is taken, the excess salt is flushed out from the urine. gai --- "Gururattan K.Khalsa" <rattanak wrote: > Dear Gayathri, > > I know that we are advised to keep our bodies > alkaline. > > You mentioned that > Salt is alkaline, and it will > neutralize > > the acidity. Guest guest
Sat Nam ya'll, Is there an explanation then why I crave acidic foods. Lemons, peppers, onions and the like? And yes, sometimes I feel my body go WAY acid and it takes me a day to calm it down. But if I don't eat a lemon a day, I just don't feel right. Doesn't matter what kind of Vit C supplements I take. Guest guest
Leo, While it is true lemon is acidic it turns alkaline in the body. I was advised to drink 1 1/2 cups lemon juice first thing in the morning in something like two pints of warm water and do you know I actually felt lelt like I'd taken a tranquillizer afterwards. It was very hard on the teeth though, and I eventually got stomach aches so I stopped. I don'tknow for sure about the other veggies you mention, but on the whole veg/fruits have an alkaline effect on the system.
