Guest guest
Sat Nam Desmond and welcome to the board! I read your post, and it sounded very similar to my first post almost a year ago. I had begun doing some 'soul searching'last year. I stumbled across an article discussing Jesus (I'm christian) and some of the text just felt right inside somehow, even though they weren't derived from the bible. But I was now a bit intrigued. So after reading several other books. I found myself agreeing with a lot of these 'new' concepts. I also came across several references in these books and writings on doing yoga. But it was written that of all of the yoga, kundalini yoga was the best to do. Up to this point I had never heard of kundalini or chakras or anything along those lines. I also had never done yoga before. So I then began doing a lot of research into kundalini and ky. At first it was very confusing because there appeared to be a lot of contradictory information. But the more I read and understood about it, the more things seemed to 'click' for me. It was almost like forgetting something and then being able to vaguely remember things. And in my experience, kundalini yoga is very different from the stories and articles I've read of kundalini. They both are referencing the same 'energy source' but the process and the results are different. I do ky for spiritual reasons. Since doing it I feel more connected to God (or whatever you term a higher power/being). I feel like I'm growing and progressing towards that direction. So I find it very fulfilling. I started doing a very simple set only twice a week. But I felt so much better that within a few weeks, I was doing it daily. I feel much more calm and peaceful than I was before. My job doesn't get me stressed out or frustrated like it used to. I feel more in tune with my body (although now that I'm listening to it, I realize how much out of tune I really am!). And I find myself re-acting less to people and instead I'm interacting with them in a more positive way. The decision is yours. But before making it, you may want to do a few simple sets for yourself and see how you feel. I am a big proponent of doing what feels right to you. If you don't feel right about it, then you should definately stop doing it. Hope that helps! Christa
