Guest guest
Sat Nam Desmond, Indeed the Shakti is both an awesome, powerful and terrifying force as the Kundalini rises or is blasted off depending on Karma. Dharman's advice on Ayurvedically cleaning up, tuning in is excellent. Also practicing a Sattvic lifestyle, pratyhara , etc. is helpful. There are many stages and glimpses of rising Kundalini again dependant mainly on karma, work done in different lifetimes, experiences of previous deaths, that seem to give rise to the many different experiences one reads about. My teacher always strongly suggests to have the experience before you read about it, which may be scary if you have a particular strong rising, but hopefully you have a teacher close by, one who walks the path ahead of you to call on in times such as these who can guide you. Many blessings to you on your path. Namaste, Rebecca
Guest guest
In regards to the question concerning Bhujangasana as pacifying for Vata...it generally is not. It is used more for Pitta constitution. To pacify Vata, twists, seated poses, and forward bends are used. The "fish" pose described in the e-mails sounds like what I know as Supta Virasana, reclined hero's pose. Matsyasana (fish) is a stronger backbend, chest opener head resting on the floor hands under the thighs, elbows together, chest opened and lifted to the sky, stimulating to the thyroid and controls metabolism also great for Pitta, maybe too stimulating for Vata. This is what I have learned about these two poses. Namaste, Rebecca
