Deva instead of Dharam on rising

Sat Nam Anne Marie,

I'm not Dharam, but I'll try to answer your questions as well.

"how will I know when the Kundalini rises?"

--KY as taught under Yogi Bhajan, stimulates K very gently relative to

the other methods hyped on the web. For most I believe, it is something

that happens slowly over time, which is the way it should be. Mine

happened somewhat suddenly, lasted about a week slowly subsiding and it

wasn't the dramatic, 'terrifying', experience that people seem to want

to make it. Yes those experiences certainly abound, but far more folk

go through a gentle, lengthy process.

Ok my symptoms: wake up suddenly in the middle of the night wide awake

can't sleep, feel 'electric current' within you, food passing right

through, lucid dreams, overabundance of energy...sorry, no

halluecinations, no walking through walls, no heavy sweating.

"Is it okay to mix different types of Yoga"

--no, not where 3HO KY is concerned, you do the kriya the way it is presented.

And taking KY exercises from KY kriyas and using them with say, a class of

Hatha, is equally discouraged. I know this happens I'm aware of at least one

teacher that does it, but they are not KY certified, I still think its wrong.

If your a KY teacher you are obligated to honor the technology that Yogi Bhajan

introduced here, by teaching it within the system provided..tuning in, follow

the kriya, tune out.

Blessings

Deva

hello everyone ,

i've been practicing Kundalini since before Xmas. i got into it because i wanted

to change me , make me a better person & to try & find out wherein does my

passion lie ? in other words what is it that i do ? what is it that i am good /

great at ? or for that matter what do i want to be when i grow up ( i'm 40 )

already ? (LOL) . so my ? is how do i tap into that ? what kriyas do i do to

bring that out ? i'm realizing now that this form of yoga is very powerful & can

be used for many things. i mean.......how long does something like this take ? &

when do you know if your kundalini is rising / risen ? i do this yoga 1 day a

week (Monday) , i've just started to notice a change in my sleep pattern , it

takes me forever to doze off . i don't want to blame the yoga for this as i've

just be4 Xmas started meds for ADD . so the lack of sleep could be because of

that . for the new year i decided that i really do want to make some changes ( i

really do watch way 2much tv!)i feel like this can take me there . any advice

from any 1 ???

Sat Nam Mojave62,

If you are having problem sleeping because u feel wired it maybe because of

kundalini rising. It gives more energy, ability to concentrate and like someone

else said it expands consciousness. You begin to notice things u didnt use to

before. You may become sensitive to other people's energy but be warned:

somethings will make u sad to know.

My Kundalini risings always are accompanied by a buzzing sound near my ear.

Every since this first happened, I've become extremely sensitive to sound.

Some people I know, feel a crawling sensation on their skin. I felt heat from

my lower body to my stomach and from my stomach up, it was cool. Any

changes--keep a diary and note them. Even write down the changes in your

relationship with othe people.

As far as you not being able to sleep at night, after your meditation

sessions, try circulating the breath (what some people call Circulation of the

Body of Light). Move the breath (while visualizing it) up (inhale)one side of

your body and then down (exhale) the other. Then move the breath up (inhale) the

front and down (exhale) the back. Do this a couple of time and see how you feel.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted. Were u one of the ones that were doing the

Sa Ta Na Ma chant?

Blessings,

Toyb
